whatifsports online sim leagues

After reading about this at Greydog forums, i wonder if any of you have played any of their online games.
It looks like Hattrick style games, they have football, basket, baseball, and hockey and also college football and basketball. I'm thinking on playing the college football league but not sure about how good it is. It's a paid service btw.

It's really expensive.

Agreed, it looks like it would be fun but not at that price(for me anyway).

Has anyone taken the plunge and tried this?

Suicane75 04-08-2005 10:56 AM

For $12.95 I may take the plunge.

Im doing the free trial league just to see what it's like right now. Anyone else interested in perhaps getting in on a FOFC Baseball sim league?

Bump.
I am having a blast playing the MLB Sim game, I suggest anyone remotely interested in this try the free demo game to get a feel for it. It would be nice to get FOFC league going.

I have played the college game and it was alot of fun.

I am currently playing both of the college dynasty sims.

My $.02 ...

The Hoops Dynasty game is way better than the Gridiron Dynasty game. They seem to be focusing more on the Hoops Dynasty (it was released before football) and it shows. The game logic in the football game leaves a lot to be desired. You can read a lot about that in their forums.

If you are thinking of taking the plunge, I would suggest that you give it more than one season (they offer discounts if you purchase seasons in bulk). As the title of the game implies, it is striving to give the player the feeling of climbing the coaching ladder up to Division I.

You start in Division III and work your way up. It is kind of easy to get from Division III to Division II, but it is hard to get to Division I. I am in my 7th season (each season is about a month) of Hoops Dynasty. I started out at Div III University of New England. I made the jump to Division II St. Augustine's after three years there (I had a very poor 2nd season: 7-20). I am in my 4th season at St. Augustine's and I am hoping to move on to Division I after this year, but I am not having an eye-opening season and may need another year at Division II. From what I can gather, there is only about a dozen or so coaches in Division I.

Bump -

Anyone else take the plunge with either of their college dynasty games? Apparently my Scout.com subscription came with a coupon for Whatifsports.com and I have to admit I'm tempted to try out the college football game, but I'm wondering if anyone else has recent experience with it to give a review of how good it is?
