Insomnia sucks

I am up at 3 in the morning because I can not sleep. Why can I not sleep? I have no idea. I have a feeling it has to do with FM arriving tomorrow. At least, I hope it comes in tomorrow. I am tracking it and it does not say it has arrived at the Memphis hub yet. I know those guys work on Sunday too because my brother worked tonight. Sigh.

What really sucks is I have an 8’ o clock class in the morning.

Sharpieman 11-22-2004 03:10 AM

I got a 10 am class tomorrow, but I'll probably start sleeping around 4. I've had insomnia for over a year now...it does suck.

Axxon 11-22-2004 03:33 AM

Insomnia is pretty bad but it gets better once you learn how to sleep through it. ;)

Seriously, the reason I work night shift is because it helped my insomnia. A lot. I can tell stories of being awake for days literally. Now, I sleep days and while it may be harmful for my body, it can't be as bad as not sleeping until you literally pass out from exhaustion.

QuikSand 11-22-2004 04:17 AM

It sucks.

Sun Tzu 11-22-2004 04:29 AM

You've been listening solely to AM up until now? That's awful!

QuikSand 11-22-2004 04:36 AM

Well, it is Mississippi, after all. I think they are scheduled to get color TV in 2006.

Good, that means we should get it here by the 2010's at the latest.

cthomer5000 11-22-2004 05:12 AM

I've gotten used to nearly no sleep during the week. Saturday is usually my massive catch-up day... but the average weekday is about 4.5 hours of sleep. It sucks.

SnowMan 11-22-2004 05:13 AM

What is this "TV" you speak of?

Yikes! I'm lucky to get that and I consider myself mostly over my insomnia. :(

You know what the trick is? Get cough medicine prescribed to you that makes you drowsy. It's been working wonders for me.

Franklinnoble 11-22-2004 10:09 AM

My wife hates the fact that I can fall asleep at a moments notice, just about anywhere, anytime.

I hate you for the fact that you can fall asleep at a moments notice, just about anywhere, anytime.

BigJohn&TheLions 11-22-2004 11:22 AM

What is worse it when you have just about fallen asleep and suddenly wake up. Then have insomnia and can't get the thought of your own mortality out of your head. There is no more soothing feeling to assist sleep than the fact that one day you will be dead and nothing you have done will matter one bit. Your hands will not move, your eyes will not see. You will die, like everybody before you...

See, I don't get much sleep at night and the above is true for me. I thought these things went hand in hand. ("don't sleep much at night" = "can fall asleep in classes during the day" makes sense to me)

SI

Dad?

Desnudo 11-22-2004 12:58 PM

Try drinking a few bottles of wine before your bedtime.

Warhammer 11-22-2004 01:01 PM

No, try Johnny Walker or my pal Jack
