Now that the torrent has been unleashed, not much they can do about it. Evidently all of the messages that were supposed to be sent got piled up in a queue somewhere, and just now are getting delivered.

And because I responded to this, you're destined for another

He's right about the queue. Look at the dates of some of the notifications. They're old. I've gotten over 600.

I'm all of a sudden very happy I switched to my gmail account when I saw that the emails weren't coming in... deleting them on gmail is a breeze...

Nope, it's a plague....of stinking smelly garbage that my poor little inbox just can't handle.

It'll be fine shortly. I'm now caught up, and getting ones from this thread (after a final count of nearly 700 old ones).

JonInMiddleGA 12-03-2004 02:42 PM

LMAO, now I remember why I never set email notifications for message boards ;)

So you don't have to hit refresh to know that someone replied to a thread that you're interested in. When someone replies, for example, to my 5.1 Dynasty thread, I want to be notified, rather than having to go over there and check on it all the time. Also, I have e-mail notifications on for PM's, New User signups and Reported Posts.

Pyser 12-03-2004 04:02 PM

i have it on for PM's....but not threads ive replied in. i guess i just figure its a busy board, i dont need to know every time franklin suggests doin it in the butt :)

What he said. It's particularly useful if you're running a dynasty. Or a thread asking for advice. Or when someone is doing crazy forum necromancy.

SI
