NCAA Div 1 Soccer Final

Pretty good game, but the Gauchos fall 2-1 on PK's. The UCSB guys missed 3 PK's!

ISiddiqui 12-12-2004 10:24 PM

Ouch!! Missing 3 PKs has to really smart!

YES!!!!!!!! IU wins again! Its good to know were still good at something. I've been here four years and had never watched a single soccer game until yesterday when I watched them beat Maryland...now if we could only do that in basketball then people around here would start caring.

ISiddiqui 12-12-2004 10:35 PM

Never watched a single IU soccer game or never watched a soccer game ever? :D

IU soccer game. I watched USA in the world cup a few years ago when they were doing well :) Oh and a few MLS games (DC United). Also I've played FIFA on and off for a few years.
I'm not a huge soccer fan :)

There's missing and there's missing. Only one was missed in the sense of not being put on frame, the others were missed merely in the sense of being poorly struck so that the IU keeper was able to make a save.

ISiddiqui 12-12-2004 11:21 PM

Yeah, but it's a PK... missing 3 of them, even if they were just poorly struck can't feel that good!

Such a great game. It's too bad that the main reason IU won was because UCSB couldn't execute worth a damn all game -- the Gauchos had something like 13 corner kicks versus 3 for the Hoosiers.

Kodos 12-13-2004 06:39 PM

I wish IU could win in a sport I cared about...

ISiddiqui 12-13-2004 07:22 PM

Yeah, I saw UCSB's game against Duke on TV, where they lit Duke up! That team has real talent. Fortunately for IU fans, they just couldn't capitalize.

MrBug708 12-13-2004 08:13 PM

I was surprised to note that the backup keeper for UCSB was the keeper for the PK's.
