Does this have anything to do with the zodiac signs from FOF4?
|
Quote:
No. |
They were all mentioned in this thread.

While technically you are correct, that is not the right answer. In fact, that answer is seemingly thousands of miles off. |

All of them have connections to Florida. Al Gore - Lost the election there Shaq - Plays there Sharapova - Lives there |

That was a joke, for the record. |
Did Keith Van Horn have a failed late-night talk show that we don't know about?

Each line is a different puzzle. |
Thinking out loud.
Bill Clinton, Gerry Cheevers, Bill Bradley The obvious link is between Clinton and Bradley -- they both had political careers, and both ran for the Democratic presidential nominees. I'm not aware of Cheevers having any sort of political life -- he's probably most famous for his scarred goalie mask. Jason White, Bart Starr, Joe Montana All QBs. All have last names that mean something else. Magic Johnson, Bob Costas, Keith Van Horn Obviously some sort of basketball connection. Someone mentioned (jokingly) that Johnson and Costas both had talk shows. Al Gore, Shaquille O'Neal, Maria Sharapova I will try very hard not to make any Bill Clinton/Kobe Bryant jokes. |

Everyone listed certainly has been very successful in their professional lives. There is a definitive connection between all three names on each line, but nothing you have reached yet. While all the puzzles have different answers, the answers will all have something in common. |

- They've all won a championship - known for their right arms - Yankee Stadium; "The Greatest Game Ever Played" was played at Yankee Stadium, Joe Louis fought Max Schmeling at Yankee Stadium, Lowe has pitched at Yankee stadium, |

Very, Very close |
Bump
What did Lowe do at Yankee Stadium? |
Quote:
Got the win in Game 7 of the ALCS. |
They all won championships at Yankee Stadium.
That should be a big clue to solve the rest. |
Quote:
Um... all QBs who played in the Cotton Bowl? edit: Then again, I have no clue if White played a snap in the 2002 Cotton Bowl. |
Quote:
All QB's who won important games at the Cotton Bowl. White-Red River Shootout Starr-1966 NFL Championship Montana-'79 Cotton Bowl |
Ah, I was actually thinking of the Bowl game itself and not the stadium, but that works ;).
|
Sid Gilman, John Mackay, Vince Lombardi - all won a football championship in 1962. Gilman in the AFL, McKay in the NCAA and Lombardi in the NFL
|
Quote:
Staples Center - 2000 DNC, NBA Finals (2000?), 2004 WTA Tour Championships |
Bill Clinton, Gerry Cheevers, Bill Bradley
Wild guess... but having something to do with Madison Square Garden? |
Clinton was nominated for his first term in Madison Square Garden.
|
Magic Johnson - won the NCAA championship in 1979 at the Jon M. Huntsman Center.
Bob Costas - was host of the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City where I suppose the opening ceremonies were held at the Jon M. Huntsman Center. Keith Van Horn - played college ball at Utah, where home games are played in the Jon M. Huntsman Center. |
Cuervo and ahbrady are right.
Work a little more on the other one. |
Let's see:
Clinton: Nominated for first term in Madison Square Garden (1992) Cheevers: Won 1972 Stanley Cup against the Rangers at Madison Square Garden Bradley: Won the NBA Championship in 1970 at Madison Square Garden |
Ding, Ding

The Orange Bowl? Lombardi coached SB II, Mckay won as a player there with Bal in SB V, Gillman must have won a big game there at some point, with OSU or UC maybe?
|
Quote:
Nope ;) |
To clarify, is this John Mckay the former USC coach?
|
I'm guessing LA Memorial Coliseum. Home of the LA Chargers in 1960, USC, and Super Bowl I.
|
Good call, I think you're right.
