Who do I contact for lost license #'s again?

I seem to have lost my license # for TCY. I am not sure if it's viatech or elicense.

Who do I contact?
Thanks.

online version. I burned onto a cd though.

edit: ok, I noticed on the Solecismic store that its ViaTech. What are they going to ask me because to be honest I bought this game over 2 years ago. I have no clue what my reciept said or anything.

Did you delete the license from your computer?

sovereignstar 01-08-2005 04:07 PM

Name, last 4/5 of the credit card number, e-mail you used.

Yes. I reformated my HD afterwards. The last time I played TCY was about one year ago.

Crap, I don't remember the last 4/5 numbers of the CC because I no longer have it. .... :(

I rememeber my name though. :D

edit: I just went ahead and contacted them. I told them who I was, when I bought it and what happend. I guess we'll see what happens. If not, I'll just buy it again I guess. It was my fault anyways.

jetpunk2000 01-08-2005 04:14 PM

I had a problem like that a couple of years ago. They probably won't give you a problem about the CC number. I learned from that, though, and now if I'm ever going to reformat I write down my license numbers before I do it.

Yea, I usually do too. For example, I bought FOF4 and I wrote that down. I burned the TCY onto a CD but that really doesnt make any difference because I can just download it from the online store anyways.

OT here but but is the TCY download the updated version (1.3)? Or will the patch still need to be installed. Lets throw FOF2004 into that mix as well, when downloading-is this the updated version (5.1b)?

I'm pretty sure FOF is because you have to DL the gamefile every time you update. TCY I don't know about because I have the CD version.

sovereignstar 01-08-2005 04:31 PM

The case is one file-only for the downloadable versions of each game, ie the downloads include the patches.

How long does it usually take ViaTech to respond? I wrote them Sunday (the same day I wrote this thread) and I knew they wouldn't respond on a Sunday but they still haven't contacted me yet and its Tuesday.

Hopefully you didn't use their ticket support system and instead e-mailed [email protected]. If you did e-mail them you should get a response within 24 hours.

Crap.

Well, I used their ticket support system first but I have since emailed them at that email you just posted. To be honest, I don't even know if they can help because it's been so long since I bought it.... :(

hoosierdude 01-11-2005 04:35 PM

They should be able to find your information. Their database is quite solid, and they usually try to answer within a reasonable amount of time... Weekends are a different story, but during the workweek, Viatech is usually very good about responding.

sounds good. thanks for the support. :)

CHEMICAL SOLDIER 01-11-2005 10:07 PM

This should really be a part of the sticky list.

maximus 01-12-2005 04:52 PM

Well, still no response form ViaTech after two emails and signing up for a support ticket. Should I contact Jim or doesn't he have anything to do with it?

Thanks.

Joe 01-12-2005 04:59 PM

i dont think he can do anything. odd that viatech hasnt responded yet, most people have no problem.

yea, just my luck.

maximus 01-13-2005 01:45 PM

Still no response from ViaTech. I just emailed them again.

I've never had to contact Viatech in the past since I never had any license issues but from this one experience I would have to say their support sucks.

edit: I mean, there isn't even a phone I can reach them at. At least I didn't see one.

edit 2: I just found a phone number. Gonna call .

sovereignstar 01-13-2005 01:56 PM

I just noticed that even though my post says [email protected] , it is linking to [email protected] (which I originally thought was the support address until further thinking). So hopefully you've been trying [email protected] .

Heh, I got on, talked to a machine for 2mins, finally held for support only to be transfered to an answering service. So I didn't even speak to anyone......

yes, I have been writing to [email protected]. I wrote 2 or 3 emails and I also did a suport ticket.

edit: Maybe I'm being to impatient but I am starting to think I'm going to have to buy TCY again.

maximus 01-13-2005 02:39 PM

Ok, I fianlly got an email from Viatech. This after 4 emails, a support ticket and a phone call to Viatech. They sent me an email saying they tried calling and have sent 4 emails to me but I haven't recieved one email from them, unless for some reason all four emails didn't get through. They also said they called and left a message...whcih they didn't. I'm not satisfied with their support at all. Telling me they left a message on my voice mail...... No, I don't think so Viatech.

Either eay, I got my ID number so that part is cool.
