Super Bowl Sunday (Eagles Vs Patriots)

Well, i'm up early in preperation for the big game, as i like to hit the grocery stores early before the craziness begins

bbq/hot dogs/sodas

what all do you do for the super bowl?

gkb 02-06-2005 04:08 AM

Wings, salsa, and Mtn. Dew... :)

TLK 02-06-2005 04:10 AM

mmmm.... beer.....

Galaril 02-06-2005 04:17 AM

Beer , kimchi and fish head soup mmmm.

Pumpy Tudors 02-06-2005 04:19 AM

I'll probably eat a couple of potato chips and then grab something from Wendy's during the second quarter or so.

Mr. Sparkle 02-06-2005 04:41 AM

You won't believe this, but in San Francisco there is only one Wendy's. The worst part of the city is that the geography is so small that there is absolutely no drive thru's whatsoever. Every fast food closes at like 10PM. As for said topic, I have plenty of beer/JD/Vodka to last me, not to mention the amount of fabulous pizza delivery services in my area.

JimboJ 02-06-2005 08:29 AM

Hey, I'm having a little get together tonight. Not sure what to make. Does anyone have any recipes for something good, besides the usual wings, nachos, etc?

MizzouRah 02-06-2005 08:54 AM

Yes, here's what I'm making for the Super Bowl party today.

3 packs of little smokies
3 packs of bacon

Cut bacon into 3 pieces, wrap 1 piece around little smokie and secure with toothpick. Do this until you fill 2-3 glass baking dishes (the more the better as these go fast).

Cover with a generous amount of brown sugar and bake in a 325 degree oven for about 40mins-1hr (until the bacon is your desired crispyness). Transfer to a crock pot to keep warm.

You have to love meat wrapped up with meat. :D

These things will go up in about 30 mins or less. :)

No recipes or anything, but maybe some lunch meats and fresh rolls or something? I'm having a bitch of a time cause I gorged on pizza 2 weekends ago and didn't end up feeling very well so I pre planned either Turkey Burgers and tater tots or a nice little chicken dish, tasty stuff that wasn't full of grease and cheese and crap.

How many people are gonna be there? Do you have an indoor grill per chance? You could cook alot of good stuff on that.

Ragone 02-06-2005 02:10 PM

Man, take my advice.. Don't try to go to the supermarket now.. its nuts.. wish i would have went earlier when i posted :)

CHEMICAL SOLDIER 02-06-2005 04:18 PM

18 pack Bud Light with 6 pack of Kirin Ichiban Beer.

kingfc22 02-06-2005 05:17 PM

Woo!! I'm getting stoked up. Let's get this game started.

Lathum 02-06-2005 05:25 PM

I'm doing nothing, I'm sick as hell

stevew 02-06-2005 05:31 PM

Thank god for the straightforward Star Spangled Banner, i hate it when they turn it into a 3 hour long ballad.

Chubby 02-06-2005 05:34 PM

I got tails!

kingfc22 02-06-2005 05:35 PM

Did the coin even rotate?

Chubby 02-06-2005 05:35 PM

It's tails! WHOOOOOOO McNabb high fives the kid who barely flips the coin heh.

They make up for the time in the other pre-game crap. It's already a half-hour to do the pre-game stuff.

Chubby 02-06-2005 05:39 PM

I'm also predicting that McNabb will puke on the sidelines tonight in the 3rd/4th quarter (ala when he was at SU)

kingfc22 02-06-2005 05:41 PM

YEA BABY!!!

mckerney 02-06-2005 05:43 PM

McNabb's gonna have trouble with the blitzing he'll see. He does well when one guy is there, but with a disciplined Pats D he's not gonna have all the time to run around he has in the past.

Axxon 02-06-2005 05:43 PM

McNabb tried to do too much there.

kingfc22 02-06-2005 05:45 PM

Good call.

Chubby 02-06-2005 05:45 PM

reversed!

Axxon 02-06-2005 05:45 PM

looks like the knee was down though.

He's done that often this year. He's been successful a number of times by doing so, although you also get those sacks out of it.

JAG 02-06-2005 05:48 PM

Beautiful blitz pickup.

stevew 02-06-2005 05:48 PM

Instant replay is far from instant. I prefer the "no-do-overs" rule, even if calls are wrong some of the time.

More like not protecting the football after he evaded the first tackler and was face up with another one.

Announcers really suck though. They were praising Reid's keen eye seeing that McNabbs knee was down.

Which is more likely, Reid has a keen eye or McNabb simply told him that he'd been down? I'm sure he felt his knee hit the turf.

This is a given. The game is on FOX.

JAG 02-06-2005 05:52 PM

What the hell was Pepsi thinking?

Not me. As long as football refs are as bad as they are we need the replay. Look at this play. There was a zebra right behind McNabb looking right at him and he missed the call. :(

I expect an apology from FOX tomorrow. Something like, "We realize it was a mistake to give Joe Buck a microphone. We apologize that we broadcast that disgusting display."

If he doesnt call it a fumble, it cant be reviewed. I agree that the refs suck, but I wonder how often they make a call knowing "it can be reviewed to get the correct call."

Well, I agree that replay should be used, but it's not always because the refs are bad. It was easy to tell that his knee was down going frame by frame, but it can be extremely difficult to tell during live action. There are some bad refs, but even good officials will need replay from time to time.

JonInMiddleGA 02-06-2005 06:00 PM

So far (of what I've seen), the Diet Pepsi spot got a chuckle, the FedEx (Burt & the bear) spot got rapt attention & a "good spot" pronouncement. Everything else has a neutral to "you just wasted big bucks".

IMO, godaddy.com didn't get their money's worth out of that spot, too many quick cuts & not enough focus on the actual website name. Also, that appears to be an edited version of the original spot (unless they've got another version coming up later), which had a rear angle shot of the shirt completely off.

No doubt but if the level of officiating was across the board better I'd be able to live with the no do overs just like stevew. It doesn't have to be perfect. Life rarely is.

No doubt this happens quite a bit and it can be frustrating considering the built in limit on challenges.

kingfc22 02-06-2005 06:06 PM

McNabb has not thrown a single good pass downfield.

Chris Collinsworth is the WORST. The quality of that guy's "insight" is about as good as his Bengals.

mckerney 02-06-2005 06:10 PM

Wow, Eagles got away with one there.

kingfc22 02-06-2005 06:10 PM

McNabb gets bailed out again.

Chubby 02-06-2005 06:10 PM

the new longest yard is going to suck i fear :(

Desnudo 02-06-2005 06:13 PM

Hopefully the calls will even out over the game.

Axxon 02-06-2005 06:13 PM

Liked that Bud Light commercial.

kingfc22 02-06-2005 06:13 PM
