Annoying Web Site Feature
So I'm doing some work-related web research, and I come across this site that sells A/V equipment. They have what quickly became perhaps the most obnoxious feature I've ever encountered on the internet.
The company's phone number attached itself like a tail to the mouse pointer arrow. Such that anywhere you moved to point-and-click on something, this phone number tagged along, sweeping from side to side. I can't tell you how annoying it was. I ran screaming, naked, into the night. |
At least now you'll remember the number, which will make it easy to avoid ever calling them for something...

That sounds a bit like those Comet Cursors gone customized (I think that was the name of those annoying pieces of crap). IIRC, there were some instances where they were being installed in basically spyware fashion, so make sure all your anti's are working just in case.

It's a java applet or an active x applet. But it's something that can be built into a website, most likely not comet cursor.
