need help
I have a friend who's trying to get into FOF. He downloaded the game, but when he tries to run it, he gets this error:
16 bit Window Subsystem at top and then inside it says: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'close' to terminate the application. He has a good pc that is relatively new, can someone help us out? Thanks a ton, we're at our wits end! |
I'm going to fricking shoot myself.

Hey, How many installations do I receive when paying for the download?
|
I sense great sarcasm in this thread. ;) http://www.solecismic.com is blocked from where I am, can someone tell me what it says if it answers the question? Thank you

Tough luck. Do a board search. |
One of the 18 threads this search turned up may help.

From solecismic.com (links probably won't work)
I am receiving an error referring to a system file deemed unsuitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications (Autoexec.bat or Config.sys). Sometimes I see a message referring to a "16-bit subsystem" or autoexec.nt. What can I do? Windows XP still uses these system files, even though they're less important than they were in the past, and can be targeted by malicious programmers and spyware. Please visit Microsoft Support for a description of this particular problem. Also, you can go to Visual Tour.com and download their XP_Fix.EXE program. This often clears up the problem. I |
Dola, now there will be a 19th thread returned by a search.

I like how Sharpieman asked the same question eight months apart... :D |

shhh.. I got a haircut last night and I'm actually still quite high. |
How dare you bring up an often repeated thread topic! Only topics about dead writers, why idiots don't like SkyDog, and if Rachel ray is hot are to be discussed in multiple threads!
