TCY: Bowl Invitations?

I finally have taken my Sol. 8 team to a Top 7 ranking in the Final Overall Poll (#4 coaches) and looked forward to a big bowl payday. However, I am still stuck in the same 'ol stinky first week game against New Mexico State, while #13 Maryland grabs my bid.

What's up? Is this a little bit of BCS bias built in?

Are Sol. 8 schools even eligible for higher payouts? The second place squad finished with 8-3 and lost out on an at-large bid to a lower ranked team, too.

On another note, when do the new coaching opportunities start rolling in? My team is 46-1 in the last 4 years (currently boycotting NM St.) and haven't received an offer from even the lowliest squad. The Options setting is set to "low coach turnover". What is the difference between the low and frequent turnover settings?

Did Maryland win the ACC? If so, then they got an automatic bid. I think you've got to get at least a #6 overall ranking to be ASSURED a spot in the BCS.

If you want a job offer you probably have to have the coach moving to high or whatever. I'm one of the most successful coaches in my Sol8 game about 40 years in and I haven't gotten an offer from a single team yet. I remember in a previous game with the high option selected I had a number of offers each year once my team was getting good.

Thanks. I guess I can complain about the "small school" bias of the game and make it more realistic, but with a 4.80 schedule strength, I probably wouldn't have taken my team, either.

I will definitely change the coaching option. I don't like having Rutgers and E. Michigan forced onto my schedule each year.
