who makes it through college without anything on their record?

A top 5 draft prospect says:

Quote:

"There's no such thing as perfect," Benson said. "I mean, who makes it through college without anything on their record?"

Once again, a Chris Rock quote comes to mind....

"You're not S'POSED to go to jail, ya low-expectation-having motherfucker!"

ROFL

If he were to say something like "I mean, who makes it through college without doing anything that might end up on their record?" (which is probably more in the spirit of what he was trying to argue), then that would be a reasonably valid point, since most college students do the whole underage partying/recreational drug experimentation routine...

I would've made it through, except one night this guy called me and well...let's just say me and my friends ended up in a rumble and shit.

Some people just need to speak before they think..... Or is it the other way around... =)

Really? Most? "Lots" I'd agree with, but I'm not sure I'd even go so far as to say "most".

The closest I came during college to having something end up on my record was driving with an expired plate about 3 weeks after it expired.

You been to a campus lately? I'm sure UMass is higher than the national average, but I'll guarantee you that well over half of students have experimented with alcohol before they turn 21, if not marijuana.

I have this image of the Beat It video in my head.

In any given year, the percentage of college students who have taken a drink in the past year hovers at about 80%. I think that would qualify as "most"...

I greatly expanded my record my first two years of college.

sterlingice 02-28-2005 04:09 PM

I am completely boring by all of your standards. The worst I got over the time was a campus parking ticket and a speeding ticket.

It's only illegal if you get caught.

sabotai 02-28-2005 04:23 PM

I don't think I had anything on my record through my 4 1/2 years at college.....

That is to say, they never caught me. *evil laugh* (But seriously, I did my fair share of drinking and drug experimentation in college).

What's the percentage of college students under the age of 21? More college students can legally drink than you think. And there's a big difference between "taking a drink" and "underage partying/recreational drug experimentation".

Glengoyne 02-28-2005 08:17 PM

I went to an eviction party once. This friend of mine was getting evicted because he and his roommate were too rowdy. That apartment was trashed. My friend's roommate and I got into it which was insane because he was a total badass. He broke down the bathroom door to get a second shot at me a little bit later that night. I'm mentioning this in this thread because the roommate took a night stick from the policeman that came to break up the party. We didn't see him for a few weeks after that. I'm pretty sure that showed up on his record.

Yeah, but either will show up on your record.

And maybe Benson is referring to university sanctions and that record, which occur much more frequently and for little things like loud music in the dorms or something. But it's probably just an asshat comment.

Karlifornia 02-28-2005 11:50 PM

Ask Lil Jon about this--He shows up on everyone's record.

Mr. Sparkle 03-01-2005 12:04 AM

I didnt make it through my first weekend without getting something on my record. Damn school with their "rules" and their "regulations".
