Fast Break Basketball Free Agency Nightmare

I had 8 free agents (top 8 scorers) in my team. We just won the championship. I offered max contracts to all 5 starters and they all went to different teams. The 3 subs went somewhere else. I was left with nothing in the FA pool. I tried offering minimum contracts to veterans and got beat out. I did not want to spend all of the cap room on veterans. I lost a couple of rookie FA's too. My 2 draft picks busted big time. I was worse than an expansion team going 4-78.

Wow. I hope that sort of thing can't happen in the next version of the game. That's pretty darned unrealistic.

Only one of the teams that grabbed of our starters made the playoffs the previous season. 38 million in cap room with only 5 players on the roster. The 2 rookies, 2 2nd year players, 1 10th man (negoiated before FA, the only one willing to do). The 10th man suddenly become our leader. I released the 2 draft picks because they dropped dramatically. They were useless even on our team. I had 1 fair player, 1 below average and 10 FA rookies for $332,817 eac. The FA rookies had C to F potential. I was rebuilding and got the number 4 pick (worst possible spot) in the lottery.

Is there going to be another version?

Franklinnoble 02-28-2005 07:07 PM

I thought there was some mention of it... maybe I'm mistaken...

There has been plenty of speculation on this board that Brian is working on a new version of FBB.

Not speculation -- HR himself said he's making a new version.

GoldenEagle 02-28-2005 08:37 PM

I think the speculation is that HR seems to be ignoring his product.

There was at one point, but HeavyReign has been MIA for at least a month now.

A sad story, I just lost the best player I have seen. 4 years, 4 MVP's. We could not win the championship, got to the finals 2 times and lost them. We had the cap room and no other SF's on the roster and he signed with our rivals for 6 years and way less. I have not made the playoffs since in the dynasty. The year I lost him, I did not replace him so that I was shocked.

Maybe the players all think you're an asshole or something.
