Who's Got Snow?!?!

Not me. Just freezing rain. :(

Wolfpack 03-01-2005 12:36 PM

Been snowing (or some other frozen precip) since midday yesterday and is about 5-6 inches I'm guessing by now (not heavy snow, but a continous light snow that accumulates gradually). Expected to continue until tonight. Even by our standards in SE Michigan, this has been a ridiculously snowy winter.

I've been shoveling my ass off, just got done. About 8" here in central PA.

Flurries here in Chicagoland over the past few days have kept our snow coverage up.

Haven't had to shovel, though, which is nice. :)

We're expecting maybe 3-4 inches in Ottawa. Or as we call it, "spring".

we're supposed to get about that today. Started snowing here at work this morning, may not snow as much where the house is though. It's really windy though, so much that it's very hard to even see the other side of the street from the window here...

anyone have Mr Plow's number? for some reason i have Plow King's number only. Got about 7" but there was still a good 4 of it on the roads for my drive to work took almost 2 hours to get 12 miles. I love sitting still durning green lights.

FrogMan 03-01-2005 02:25 PM

I just learned they closed the little road between my workplace and home. I'll have to take another road and now instead of the usual 25 minutes commute (about 22 miles at 55MPH) on good weathe (35-40 on very bad weather) I'm looking at possibly 1.5-2 hours or so, on a much longer trip. I hate that.

it was like 88 degrees today :(

Maple Leafs 03-01-2005 06:48 PM

OK, I lied. Ottawa was supposed to get 3-4 inches across the city, but instead it all fell on my driveway.

Nothing like coming home from a hard day's work and being unable to pull into your own driveway (and barely being able to walk up your own driveway without disappearing forever in the snowy depths.)

He was asking about snow fall, not your most recent date.

;) :D

what a nice day... Left work at 4:20, with some reports that the road between work and home was closed. They have some history of closing it sometimes when it's very windy because the snow swirls quite a lot and visibility becomes a problem. I don't have a problem with winds and visibility. As long as you slow down, you'll eventually get home, be it at a speed of 15MPH, but you'll get there... So, assuming it was because of them thinking visibility was a problem I left work at 4:20, only to be blocked midway, by a closed road, now with reports of an 18 wheeler that had jackknifed somewhere in the middle of it. Minutes first ticked, then hours. Many other people were there, waiting to get through. I was now hearing reports that they were not letting us through because of visibility problems, DARN IT!!! The snow had almost stopped. After that a few cars went around the police car blocking the road, when the police car left, yet leaving the sign "CLOSED ROAD", I decided I'd had enough. Made my way to home with little visibility problems, average speed around 40-45MPH on a road where I usually go at 55-60, so a little under regular speed. Made it home at 8:45, to find the same thing as Maple Leafs, a driveway that need some snowblowing... oh the fun... Finally able to sit down just now...
