Very, very annoying. Just like the other Coke ads.

Only thing worse is the Carls Jr. "talking fetus" commercial.

jeff061 03-18-2005 02:05 PM

Heh, I hope thats not the real lyrics.

No wait, i do.

I just assumed that they used the Harry Belafonte song "put the lime in the coconut", thinking "that makes no sense in a coke commercial". But I guess they did change the lyric...

I know that he is a staunch Republican, but wow...

I missed that. I was actually pretty confused about this, because I couldn't figure out why they wouldn't put one representative of their target audience in the commercial. Guess they did.

It sounds like coconut to me too.

The idea of putting lime in cola just doesn't appeal to me.

Karlifornia 03-18-2005 04:18 PM

If I wanna nut in my coke I can now do so without any shame. That is all.

No kidding! I had a friend who used to order cherry cokes at this restaurant by having them put grenadine syrup in it (since they didn't have real cherry coke). When my friend left the table, the waiter asked us for refills, and I asked if they could put something other than cherry syrup in it. The waiter said "lime," so I had them put lime syrup in his coke. When he tried it, he made this face, and talked about how his coke tasted weird for some reason. We all had a good laugh. He doesn't really talk to me anymore.

"What's a Diet Coke with Lime thing? It's a Diet Coke with Lime thing."

Whoever approved putting that in a commercial should be fired and sent to a federal "pound-me-in-the-ass" prison.
