We'll get to the player profiles soon. Be ready for a stunning trade involving an FOFCer that happened during the 2010 draft.

Since the TCY and FOF parts are separated now, I don't really need this logo thing to show when the post is for the pros, but I liked it, so I thought I'd put it in here just for the hell of it.

Montoya going #10 was a shocker, but 3 of the first 7 were RBs, so as often occurs, teams started panicking and both #10 and #12 were also RBs.

McGill was about as advertised, going late 4th round, but Ertmann in the 5th round was a surprise, as I had him going in the late 1st. However, the first QB taken was not until late 2nd, and Daniel was the next one, at #138.

Swaggs not being drafted was not a total surprise, as his combine showing was very poor.

thealmighty 03-27-2005 02:18 AM

Former FOFC Star Traded

Former Penn State star Godzilla Blitz was traded during the draft in a silly and shocking move by the Oakland Raiders.

Oakland sent their starting MLB, who won the NFL's Defensive Rookie of the Year award, registering 104 tackles, to the New York Jets in exchange for the 1st pick in the 2nd round. That happens to be the pick the Raiders used in the 2009 draft to select Blitz.

The Raiders new player has worse ratings than Blitz, but the future will tell the wisdom of the move.

thealmighty 03-27-2005 02:27 AM

Ex Tennessee Star a Boom

Former Volunteer linebacker Larry McGill came to the New England Patriots as a late 4th round pick. The Pats were expecting a decent player with ratings of 25/56. What they got was a whole other story, much to their surprise- and delight.

McGill reported into Patriot training camp with ratings of 40/78, and is now the heir aparent to longtime NFL star Ray Lewis. Lewis is in his last year of the 2 year deal he signed with New England before the 2009 season.

McGill can expect to play a good bit, at least, as Lewis missed 6 games last year due to injuries.

thealmighty 03-27-2005 02:39 AM

South Carolina Star Signs

South Carolina's all-time best defensive player, Charlie Swaggs, signed a FA contract with the Arizona Cardinals in the 2nd free agent signing period. The linebacker was signed as the back-up to the Cards 1st round pick at #16, Josh Winters from Oklahoma.

12 year veteran Orlando Ruff was signed as a mentor for this rookie duo (if the computer will leave him on the team). Arizona is hopeful that Ruff will help the youngsters blossom.

larrymcg421 03-27-2005 02:40 AM

Woohoo. I love it. Now as long as I can get rid of the injury bug that plagued me in college, should be a good career.

thealmighty 03-27-2005 02:47 AM

Post Training Camp Ratings:

The FOFC contingent of 6 in the NFL came out of training camp as follows:
  • Tang Le Wood, QB, Kansas City: 17/56, change of +4/0 from before
  • Godzilla Blitz, MLB, New York J: 46/60, change of +4/0 from before
  • Charlie Swaggs, MLB, Arizona: 19/44, change of +1/-7 from before
  • Daniel Ertmann, QB, Minnesota: 17/74, change of +3/0 from before
  • Larry McGill, MLB, New England: 44/76, change of +4/-2 from before
  • Inigo Montoya, RB, Minnesota: 46/57, change of +2/0 from before

Individual season outlooks and post training camp ratings to come.

PROJECTION: #3 QB

Tang is not in too bad a spot, as neither of KCs other QBs is very good now, nor do they have much in the way of Future. If he progresses as he should, Le Wood could be a starter, if not a star, here. The other QBs on the Chiefs team are:
  1. 4 Years- 29/39
  2. Rookie- 28/53

Godzilla got screwed by the Raiders with this trade. He is now sitting behind 2 time Defensive Player of the Year Kendrell Bell, who has 3 more years worth about $40 million. The other MLBs on the Jets team are:
  1. 10 Years- 70/70

PROJECTION: #2 MLB

Swaggs was picked-up as a back-up to 1st rounder Josh Winters. He has slid in ratings a bit already, but with some playing time, and his 74 volatility rating, there is always hope. The other MLBs on the Cardinals team are:
  1. Rookie- 34/73
  2. 12 Years- 12/13 (mentor)

PROJECTION: #2 RB

Montoya is sitting there wondering why the Vikes took him at #10. They have Onterrio Smith under contract. He has led the league in rushing the last 2 years. At least Inigo has job security, with the ratings of the other 2- one of which may be cut before the regular season, one would think. The other RBs on the Viking team are:
  1. 8 Years- 64/65
  2. 3 Years- 27/31
  3. Rookie- 21/31

PROJECTION: #2 QB

Minnesota needs a starter in a couple of years, so Daniel will have time to grow- let's hope not stagnate- behind the greatness that is Dante Culpepper. Dante has 2 more years on his deal, the 2nd of which is for a cool $22+ million. The other QBs on the Viking team are:
  1. 11 Years- 85/85
  2. Rookie- 13/26

PROJECTION: #2 MLB

McGill is in a very good spot. Ray Lewis is in his last year under contract- and old as hell- so Larry is the obvious star of the future for the Patriot defense. In fact, don't be TOO surprised to see Larry starting by year's end. The other MLBs on the Patriot team are:
  1. 15 Years- 53/53

If I was SplitP, I might. But I'm not, so I don't know.

weinstein7 04-02-2005 12:05 AM

Hah, right. What can I tell you...an eNFL owner of a team in Texas.

I'm retarded.

Speaking of your eCowboys, I thought you might be interested to know that Glen Tucker is currently an unrestricted free-agent.

thealmighty 04-02-2005 02:25 PM

Right, we all look alike. :)

'My' eCowboys seem to have regressed considerably. I hope the new GM has a plan.

Check the green and purple. I tried to lighten them some. Did it help?
