FBCB: A First For Me In Any Text Sim

I just got fired, playing an all-out career! That's never happened to me before now. I took Savannah State all the way up to a Level 5 Conference (Big 12), and even made it to the Championship Game once, but I was unable to sustain success in a tough conference, and got the boot.

The expectation to make it to the Sweet 16 every year proved to be too much for me. Since the Prestige bug was fixed, it actually can be difficult when your team moves up. In the past, it took so long to move up that by the time it happened, my team was head and shoulders the best in the new conference. That wasn't the case in this career.

I'll now be taking over Tech, and trying to win in the ACC. The good news is that the only expectation is to avoid finishing last in the Conference. Looking forward to building the North Avenue Technical School into a national power!

You were too old, the game had passed you by.

MrBug708 04-03-2005 01:09 PM

You need to play more games ;)

You need to bring back the QOTM.

I think the AD was a little trigger happy there, you should have had at least one more year with the team.

I don't know. I can't complain too much. After all, I missed the AD Goal (Sweet 16) eight of my last nine seasons there.

Who was your AD, John Wooden?

Well making the championship with Savannah State means you should never be fired in my book but from the game's standpoint I can see it.

I think that maybe if you take OVER a top team like that and have that record over 9 years...a firing wouldnt look TOO bad (questionable, but not bad)...but that fact you were with the team that long i would think youd need more than two bad seasons in a row.

For Example.

If Luter Olson went to the NIT, and then missed the NCAAs, would he be fired? Nah.

However, if Bill Self went to the NIT then missed the NCAAs, KU would prob. let him go.

Did you threaten an opposing coach with death? Did you send out a goon to break an opposing player's arm? If you had, maybe you'd still be the coach.
