You will need to download an IRC client (mIRC, pirch, or another IRC client) and then connect to irc.stratics.com or, alternatively, to one of the following servers:

you might want to check what server you can connect with.

i have MIRC

and i got in with server "stratics.afraidyet.net"

the other servers listed would not connect for me.

so try them out early. we got about a hour and 15 mins before it starts.
