Question about my new computer

Darn, I just lost a long post, but I'll summarize it. I'm setting up my new computer which has a 1905FP Ultrasharp Flat Panel Monitor. The computer also has a 256MB ATI Radeon X850 XT PE video card. The (idiot proof) instruction sheet for hooking up the monitor suggests that I should use a VGA cable to hook up the monitor to the computer. However, A DVI cable is included and is listed as a less preferred option. A USB cable is also included as an option. My understanding was that DVI delivered a better image than a VGA cable. I'm hoping that someone who is more tech savvy than me can confirm this? Is there any reason I shouldn't use a DVI cable? Is there some odd reason why I should use a USB cable?

DVI seems the way to go.

I actually read that site when researching this :)

I can't see any reason not to use DVI when I have the correct cable included.

Thanks for the confirmation.

Dola -

I realized what the USB cable is for. The monitor has 4 high speed 2.0 USB ports and the one out port has to be connected to the computer to make those 4 ports work. Very sweet. In total, I have 12 USB ports, 6 of which are easily accessible. Of course, that is more ports than I could imagine using.

Yep, 8 on the main computer, 2 of which are in the front (but covered by a nice door.) 4 more on the monitor itself around the edges.

I would be more worried about how many FM leagues that sucker can run. :)

Believe me, I am :)

Actually, I feel like a bit of an idiot. I just called Dell support because I thought they forgot to put one of my GB's of memory into the computer. However, Apparently Windows XP can only recognize a maximum of 3 GB of RAM? He said that when I upgrade to a Windows 64 bit system in the future, the OS will be able to recognize all 4 GB of ram. Looking in the boot-up, sure enough all 4 GB are loaded.
