Poker: Player View
So I'm graduating up from gametime+ to the new version of playerview. Does anyone else use it? Any favorite setup for multi-tabling ring games?
I read a recommendation to get a scaled down Party Skin thingy if you're going to use playerview and in my limited time fooling around with it I can se why... anyone have a ready made one that works well with playerview or any recommendations? |
I'm still using gametime.... what's different about PlayerView?

Playerview is harder to configure I suppose, but it is much more cusomizable. You can configure the layout of every stat for every seat on the table that you want displayed. One of the nicest features is the hole card display, it will show you on the table the hidden hole cards from the previous hand's showdown without having to go into the hand history viewer. Another feature everyone i've read loves is that you can display stats on the tables you're observing, where on gametime you can't see the stats til you're sitting down and playing. Much nicer for game selection. www.playerview.net I believe. The hole card thing is in the testing version, but not the stable version. Supposedly the testing version is pretty stable itself though. Note that i've only been using it for about 1 hour so far, and just in testing, I wasn't playing much and wasn't multi-tabling, so about half of my info above is from what I did myself, the other half from the reviews of the people that convinced me to get it. :D |
A guy on the fool.com boards gave me his party skin and settings. It will definitely take some getting used to but looks like it can be extremely powerful if you can get used to it and process all the info.
There is an issue with the hole card info, once I talk to the guy and see how he deals with that I'll host it if anyone wants to check it out. Anyway, link: http://www.angband.org/~radii/pv.GIF |
Radii - this looks promising - would definitely be interested in updated screen shots.

Ok, I got it working the way I like it. There's now a small black background around each number, makes it easier to read. I also moved the hole card display... the screnshot shows this for 3 positions. Just remember hold cards are always ABOVE the player in question.
http://www.angband.org/~radii/pv.GIF If interested, download: http://www.angband.org/~radii/skins.ZIP This contains the party skin and seat stuff, and also the player view configuration. You'd have to download and set up playerview before you do this(http://www.playerview.net). Feel free to ask if you have any questions. |
A lot of information there.... I'll give this a try later tonight.
|
Interesting.
|
???
on one of those screen shots - it shows something that would seem to indicate opponent hole cards - that can't possibly be correct!?!? |

I thought it displayed them after the hand was overwith as well?

Right, they're already available immediately after the hand if you click on the hand history stuff, this just makes it easier to get to without having to distract yourself from the tables to scroll through the last hand. There's no cheating going on here, just parsing data that's put on your hard drive immediately after each hand. |
OK - but does it show you cards that were mucked? If I am playing and go all-in with crap and get everyone to fold in the game I obvioulsy do not need to show my cards if no one calls.
does this only show showdown hands? |

It's only going to show what's available in the hand history, which would be showdown hands only. If you go all-in and nobody calls, then nobody will see your cards. |
Bump. I am getting back into poker and see that this is $50. Is it worth it?
|
Go get GameTime +.
It's free and a hell of a tool. |
I downloaded GameTime+ and is a very cool tool. What is the best way to keep everything up to date? For example, when a player leaves his stats stay up. Is there anyway to do away with this?
|
I've switched back to gametime+ for now with the playerview switch to $50.
