The Warlord of Coffee can hate his job once AGAIN! |

I thought this thread was about Moishe Rothstein.
|

The job is for an advertising agency, where I am The IT Department. Literally. Their IT guy is leaving, and I'm taking over. Complete control of all things technical, ability to change anything I want.
I have power. Oh yes. |
Congrats CW!
I guess this means you'll have tons of time to work on enhancing CCTB now, correct? (you being the boss and all... :)) |

Good. FOFC can now be hosted on one of your corporate servers. With that, you can re-enable the QOTM. |
CW finally got the damn ball.

As I was told by my 'in' at the company, it's apparently one cushy ass job, too. So once I get settled in...yeah, I might have some time to kill. :) |
Oh, and I officially call upon the Chicago Consortium of FOFC to join me sometime soon, once I find a new place to live back up there. You shall all be welcome at my Return To Civilization Party.
|
When I was eating lunch at the Indian restaurant this afternoon this business dude at the next table was talking about Chicago and Galesburg. Made me think of you, CW... :)
|
Heh! Well, it wasn't me.
|
Some guy was talking about edible undies today .. Made me think of you, CW ;)

I thought we agreed that was between you and me! |
Rock.
|
As an addendum.
You know you're an alcoholic when the all but one of the folks who are coming out for your departure party (granted, most of my close friends are in Chicago) are bartenders. :) |
I saw a penguin on tv today.. and well i didn't think of you

Ah geez, you thought you hated your job before ... {Actually, it shouldn't be all that bad, IF you don't mind explaining that "this is NOT a cupholder"} edit to add: I know a little of which I speak, albeit dating back 8-10 years. For a few months, I was the 3rd man in a 2-man IT department for a 200 employee agency, sort of low-man backup guy for a couple of hours a day. Stuff like helping teach new software & procedures & such, email maintenance, anti-virus stuff, "I broke it" complaints, etc. You've seen how much don't know about computers in various threads here, and I was probably one of the 5 most knowledgable people in the building on the subject. That alone is rather frightening. |
That reminds me of my favorite story from my buddy who was it at sprint
he gets a call "Uh, my computer isn't working" His first response "Is the monitor on" her response "Oh" |

Trust me, that aspect of it cannot POSSIBLY be worse than tech support (both internet and general computer) for an ISP in Galesburg (general computer expertise level: slightly above that of a yak). |
Congrats :)
Now get your sorry ass to fixing recruiting in CTBB before you get back to work. SI |
