FOFC: Posters From The Same Town

I've noticed that it seems like a lot of FOFC'ers who post regularly are close in proximity to each other. Some from bigger areas then others. For example, Ice and I are both from Berkley, Michigan, which has a max of 15,000 people living here. And I can swear to it that someone else on here is from Berkley, or has lived here.

So are there any other occurances where people on here are from the same town/city of an even smaller population?

The coincidences life brings. Good stuff.

Quick response, Chief. Are you outside watching me?

xoxo.

It seems as if half this board is from Georgia or perhaps Oklahoma/Texas.

Yeah, I've noticed. I don't let it stop me from posting, though.

TAKE THAT FOFC: SOUTH!

ice4277 05-05-2005 05:02 PM

Well, I mean, come on, is there really anything to actually DO in Texas/Oklahoma or Georgia? ;)

MacroGuru 05-05-2005 05:04 PM

Calis was here in Utah for a bit....but then he moved....right now...I don't think there is anyone else on here in Utah (Unless BYU14 is)

JeeberD 05-05-2005 05:07 PM

Good number of us from DFW, though I'm the only one from Lewisville. But Sach, Lathum, and Cap are all in the next town over, Carrollton.

RA used to live in El Paso, but not the same time I was there. And of course, there was no one else from Abilene when I lived/posted there...

k0ruptr 05-05-2005 05:08 PM

couple hawaiians on here i tink...

ThunderingHERD 05-05-2005 05:15 PM

I currently live in Kannapolis, NC. In the softball coach thread from a week ago I believe someone said they were from Concord, which is like 5 miles away.

sovereignstar 05-05-2005 05:17 PM

I often hear The Afoci's high-pitched mating call at night.

I'm about 40 miles down the road in Fergus Falls, MN.

gottimd 05-05-2005 06:10 PM

I think Honolulu Blue is near me, and there are a few others not too far from me. Quiksand is probably about 30 minutes from me.

Draft Dodger 05-05-2005 06:25 PM

I'm the only one in Keene - but obviously there's a couple other NH people around. Jim's about an hour away in one direction, and fido (wherever he went off to) is about an hour in another direction. If I contributed anything to this community, that would be quite the football sim power triangle...instead it's more like a power line or something.

Logan 05-05-2005 06:47 PM

I know there are a few of us who are currently posting in New Brunswick, NJ, but we're originally from other places.

I live in Fort Worth myself, and I was born in Abilene but haven't lived there in 15 years

Swaggs 05-05-2005 07:05 PM

I believe Taco lives here in Durham. I think gstelmick lives in Cary, which is the next town over from us.

RPI-Fan 05-05-2005 07:07 PM

There's an Albany guy (Flame Eater) but he's never posted anything about his locale.

I'll be spending a night in East Brunswick NJ next week (and Cary NC for that matter) but I don't think that counts

RPI-Fan 05-05-2005 07:15 PM

Also, an interesting note:

I've been to SirFozzie's house in Franklin, MA, but never met him.

Be careful, RPI. That sounds an awful lot like stalking... :D

Pumpy Tudors 05-05-2005 07:27 PM

EaglesFan27, LloydLungs, and I are all in the New Orleans area, but New Orleans is a pretty big city compared to some of these other places that have been mentioned here. I know albionmoonlight is from New Orleans, but I gather that he isn't in the city anymore. Any other NOLA folks around here?

korme 05-05-2005 07:29 PM

scooper lives somewhere, i forget

NoMyths 05-05-2005 07:33 PM

EasyMac and I are in the same town, and Shaun Sullivan is as well (basically...just over the Coop bridge). None of us have ever met...that we know of. ;)

GoldenEagle 05-05-2005 07:42 PM

Warhammer and one another guy are from Memphis. indoorsoccersim and Pumpy also have close ties.

wade moore 05-05-2005 07:47 PM

Fritz and I live in two cities on the western, less populated (but more than 15,000) side of the Hampton Roads, VA area...

Beyond that I'm originally from the DC Metro Area, and there are tons from there...

RendeR 05-05-2005 08:44 PM

I know Fozzie is in New England, Telle and I are also, and I am sure I heard a good number of other folks from NE also.

I live right in Capitol Hill. About 3 or 4 blocks from Union Station. Nice area.

I know Cam is somewhere in the Virginia-side of the Greater DC Metro area and Terpkristin is on the Maryland side. And, you're right, quite a few others as well

Another fine, fine city of New Jersey.

May I ask why you are gonna be in EB? Trying to hit up the wonderful Magnifico's Ice Cream? Maybe the Seville Diner?

primelord 05-05-2005 09:49 PM

There is a fairly large number of St. Louis people here

nah - just driving through from NH to NC, and going to stay there on the way down. that just seemed like a decent place to stop (just wanted to clear NY). wont be sightseeing at all - just a place to sleep.

damn Cards fans

Lathum 05-05-2005 10:09 PM

Me and Cap live in Carrollton TX, we've never met but we both spend alot of time stalking Jeeber at Olive Garden

Vince 05-05-2005 10:10 PM

Tobias worked in my hometown...though I'm not IN my hometown, and haven't been since I started posting here. Franklinnoble lives up around there too, if I recall correctly. Others off the top of my head -- RFUS, Sharpie...hrm, I can't think of anything else. Other than that, I'm pretty much closest to the SoCal group -- Sack, Chief Rum, etc.

kcchief19 05-05-2005 10:10 PM

Ragone and I probably live 10-15 minutes away from each other tops. I can't remember exactly where he lives, although we often tell stories about going to the same places. I drive by where he works on my way to work. We should hit The Landing in Liberty one night for the weekly poker tournament. :)

DD, don't you and Jim share a stoplight? Or does New Hampshire not have stoplights?

You've never stalked me, you lying bastard...

Speaking of, my girlfriend and I are probably going to hang at The Flying Saucer in Addison after my birthday dinner on Tuesday. Come on by, bro!

Wolfpack 05-05-2005 10:16 PM

I reside in a place where a lot of posters spent some small portion of their lives slogging their way to a degree. Matter of fact, I think a couple of them are doing it now, though I think they've gone home with the semester ending recently. I want to say Anxiety is up the way in Ypsi from me. There are also a number of others scattered over SE Michigan, though they are too far away to be bothered with. ;)

There are several Ypsi folks either here or just outside of Ypsi.

-Anxiety

Glengoyne 05-06-2005 02:57 AM

I've just assumed that any two people posting here from the same town are doing each other. It makes it simpler that way.
