Joey Porter pads his resume prior to his application to become the new Tufty

For some reason this made me laugh: I think Porter must have been really bored when he gave this in depth analysis of health & safety:

"I don't own a bike because I don't trust them."

Porter occasionally gets on a Jet Ski, but he said that's different from steering a motorcycle through heavy traffic. Roethlisberger acknowledged many drivers become distracted when they see him riding, shouting or waving at him.

"If I fall off a Jet Ski, I hit the water, and I like my odds," Porter said. "I'm going to get wet. What I say about motorcycles is that concrete is undefeated."

Sounds like he's issuing a challenge?

I am fairly sure that 99% of FOFC regulars have no idea what the title of this thread means....

I agree. If you hit the water at 50 mph, you are gonna be in some pain.

Seemed to be the point.

CHEMICAL SOLDIER 05-07-2005 08:59 PM

WTF is a Tufty?

Eaglesfan27 05-07-2005 09:01 PM

I think it is that scary looking animal in the post by Ryan S.

MikeVic 05-07-2005 09:07 PM

I've never heard of Tufty before... and I don't think I'd ever ride a motorcycle either.. :(

And Eaglesfan, you should go buy a lottery ticket. You're post count is the lucky sevens. :D

My dynasty thread quickly advanced it past the lucky 7's :)

However, the Louisiana lottery is 83 million dollars tonight, which is almost enough to make me buy a ticket.

As per Ryan's pic: Tufty the Safety Squirrel!

It was a campaihn in the 70s/80s to raise traffic awareness for kids: I was going to go with the Green Cross Code Man, but for some reason thought Tufty was used both sides of the pond... Obviously not!

Plus Tufty's funnier :D

I was going to post a link for you all to explain who Tufty is, and he was used in the US in the 50s & 60s apparently...

However, what I found was a disturbing story of the attempt to subvert society and enslave mankind - the children's safety guide was all just a front! The full expose can be found at the link below!
