How about a 6 month old who won't sleep. Ever. |
I think i just want to go through that pregnancy thing. But once the baby is born i'll just give it to GE to watch all the time. Yep, that definitly sounds like a plan.
|
did you get the good news on orgasm day?
|
Quote:
that is a sad reply... children bring so much into one's life... Congrats Kevin! Your life will change, but for the better :) Good luck with the pregnancy. FM |

Because life just isn't complete until a little bundle of joy takes a dump while you're holding it. |
My only negative on the issue is that the due date is Janaury 14th and the wedding was planned for Janaury 7th. We'll have to move it into 2005 but other then that everything is cool. Oh, and the fact that I could get laid off at any moment because my CEO is stupid and sold out for $150M
|
Quote:
It's already 2005, dude. ;) |

sure, who said it was gonna be easy. I mean having the kid call you, say "papa papa", or simply realize that waving and saying "byebye" when someone puts on his/her coat to leave is the thing to do, well, it's simply magic. I'm not questioning people's choice, simply saying that my sons are simply the best, wouldn't have it any other way, even if that now means we're not going out anymore, or our lives are dedicated to watching out for them... Maybe she already had the baby. |
Aren't you a little pissed at this Adrian guy?
|
Quote:
It had better be official by that point, wouldn't you say? |
Quote:
|
That makes much more sense. Thanks for clarifying.

the rare winter wedding

Be careful here though. YOU wouldn't have it any other way. You seem to want to project that feeling onto everyone - and for some people the rewards do not catch up to the sacrifices. You should not be saying "children bring so much into one's life" as that implies it is universal. If your children have brought that much into your life, you should be sharing that with everyone, but don't assume that everyone will have the same reaction. |
Quote:
I may seem to you that way, sorry, I didn't mean it that way. By giving generic examples of what they brought to me, I meant to share it it with everyone as you say. I simply thought that your sarcastic comment about how unfun having a kid can be was a bit negative. I, more often than not, try to go the way of pointing out, or sharing, positive things more than trying to find negative ones. FM |
Adrian Zmed?
|
The only thing I can say after reading the original post...
Adrian may have done it but the real question is - did you? ;) |
Quote:
Well, first of all, I didn't make the initial sarcastic comment you are talking about (at least I think I did not). Only pointing out the positive aspects of having children is incredibly one-sided, and deceptive to potential parents. There are a ton of negatives, which are omnipresent and can be oppressive. When mentioning the joy you get from being called daddy, you should also mention that it has been years since you decided what to do with a single moment of your time, and that household chores have tripled, while sleep hours have gone down 50%. |
Quote:
Sorry, you're right, Sackattack made the sarcastic comment. And why would it be so bad that *I* present a one sided, positive view, compared to sackattack, or anybody else's, negative one sided view? Ton of negatives? Not in my eyes. Should we all put disclaimers to what we post? This was my opinion that the "why?" comment was a sad one, then I simply said that you could not judge if children are a good thing or not by judging on one negative aspect and I then gave examples of positive aspects, which to me are important. You sort of implied that I wanted to project that feeling to others, which wasn't really my intention. FM |

Who's negative? I was cracking jokes. |

sorry, humor doesn't always register well with text. Without a smiley, I didn't get the feeling you were joking. FM |
Quote:
No, i don't argue anything. I don't know that person's life. If she comes and simply says "I want a baby!" who am I to question her? I don't know her life, I don't know her priorities, or how she lives her life... I simply found it odd that out of nowhere, it was asked "why?"... FM |
This is like a bad Abbott and Costello routine.

Oh, and apologies for the threadjacking. :)

but Adrian is a dude's name. Adrienne would be the female. |

back to somehow on topic, but it just hit me that your situation will be very similar to ours as in that we got married on January 11th, when my wife was all of 6 months pregnant with our first son :) FM |

Because! |

Oh, it sounded like you thought everyone should try to be on third base when not everyone may want to be on third base. I've seen that it's mostly for selfish reasons people go for third base. |

with birth control and contraceptives readily available, is there a non-selfish reason to have children these days? ![]() |

I've been unselfishly spreading my seed far and wide for years. |
If you want to read into it that much, everything we do and every action we have taken or will take is for selfish reasons.
So lets leave it at human nature ;). |
