So this guy is easily my best pull ever. What price should I start him at, and what time do I list him order for him to have the best chance to stay in the USA?

in my opinion, start at $1,000 and as soon as possible.

people will find him and make time for him if he is a possible youth pull. prices almost always work themselves out anyway with people getting into bidding wars :) you probably want him to be one of the first excellent's listed on their search page however.

however, i would wait to see what someone else says before you do anything i suggest ;)

Granted, he is only a winger with no secondaries (beggers can't be choosers), but I would like him to stay in the USA if possible and hopefully make the U-20 team, so would that be more likely if he was listed the evening USA time?

List him cheap, like saintjo said. Let the bidders take care of the price. Unless you train wingers, you would want to get this guy to market as quickly as possible.

More importantly, make sure you play him at winger in your cup match. Also, make sure that you list him so he sells before training updates, which means he needs to be listed before 8:30 CDT tonight. I wouldn't cut it that close. I'd list him now if I were you. 12-3pm is prime Swedish bidding time.

Also include a note (if you have supporter) in his quote that he will be playing winger in the cup match this week.

good point about the guy playing in your cup at the winger position and mentioning it under his name with the supporter option.

if you have supporter you might want to join a winger trainer federation and post on there as well.

Thanks for the good points guys. I agree that listing him now would be best for profitability (I usually list all of my players around this time), but I want to try and do what's best for the USA national teams. I talked to brxnivy and he suggested listing tonight around 0.00 Hattrick time, so that Europe is asleep/not wanting to waste a week of training.

I don't really understand why people feel the American trainers are going to do a better job training him that a foreign one.

An American trainer would be more likely (though not a sure thing) to do what is best for the USA team and not necessarily what is good for his/her team when it comes down to the little decisions, like what to train in the off-season, or when they will sell the player, etc. There are some U-20 managers that only take, or give preference to, players that are being trained in their own country due to the potential headaches it could cause.

If the trainer wants the player to make/stay on the U20 team then he will go by the orders of the U20 manager.

Right now I'm looking for a winger trainee but I'd rather buy a solid with solid passing or playmaking than a player like yours.He is the kind of player that won't be trained more than 2 seasons because after that wages will be too important compared to the possible sale value.

But he is still a nice pull.

Has anyone ever thought of taking a trainee with poor Pm and training for two seasons so at the end of those two seasons he would then be a solid PM then switch to winger training and in two seasons he would then, by the ripe old age of twenty, would be a solid PM and a Magnificent winger? Or does no one have the patience for this? :confused:

They use trainees who are better-suited to it... guys who actually start out with non-poor PM. You blow a ton of time getting that poor PM up to something that actually has value, time that would be much better spent taking a guy from inadequate or passable up to formidable or outstanding.

Or they buy guys who were trained in PM and are already at formidable+ PM with enough winger to be trainable, and train them up in winger. I have a guy that I might turn into, say, a formidable PM with magnificent winger.

A few seasons back, I bought a guy who was 18 (near end of season), and I *think* magnif wing, passable PM. (Might've been as low as outstanding wing; or as high as solid PM). I trained him for several seasons up to supernatural PM. I found he sold for less than I expected, considering I paid a premium for him, and that I won't train someone like that again. Granted, that was a few seasons back.

As far as your specific question, poor PM is way too low to even consider. Why waste a spot for 2 seasons? You could probably find a 19 solid PM, exc. wing for not TOO much, as compared to wasting a PM training spot when you could be taking someone else from passable to outstanding in that time.

Also also, I'd advise against designing training around 1 uber-player. It's easier to develop a training regimen and find the trainees to fit it than to build around 1 player.

So, what do you think a 20yo like this would go for:
