Keith Traylor a Linebacker???

From ESPN's Monday roundup:

Quote:

Miami Dolphins: The team signed free agent defensive tackle Keith Traylor to a two-year contract.

The 6-foot-2, 340-pound Traylor was released by the Super Bowl champion New England Patriots earlier this month.

Miami is the fifth NFL stop for Traylor, a 13-year veteran who was drafted as a linebacker by Denver in the third round of the 1991 draft. Traylor has 459 career tackles, including 13 sacks, and has forced 11 fumbles while recovering three more.

To make room for Traylor, the Dolphins waived linebacker Billy Strother.

I didn't realize this, but was he that heavy in college? Jim needs to change FOF to account for weight gains. :)

Do you not remember the big man running a fumble recovery back 60 odd yards down the touchline for the Bears? The man is an athlete! Highlight reel stuff!

He actually used to be a LB in college (I remember seeing something about player weights and Traylor was the example used) but was converted to DT - admittedly he may have lost his burst with the extra pound or two he's gained.

IIRC, Keith worked out and ate his way into defensive tackle. He wasn't drafted to play tackle.

I read that the first time as Keith worked out and ate his defensive coordinator.

I heard that Esera Tuaolo tried to do the same thing, but in a different way.
