Questions regarding BowFlex.
Ok guys I'm planning to get a bowflex, but dont know which one to get. I think there are over 6-8 different brands. Three people are going to use the machine which would save us all money instead of continuing the gym membership.

dola: I was looking at a bowflex and the weider crossbow. I like the weider because of the digital weights but bowflex offers 95 exercises.
|
While I'm not a fan, I've heard positive things about the bowflex. I know personally, that I wouldn't want anything at all digital being involved in my weight lifting. If it doesn't move mechanically, I don't want it, it's just a potential thing to break.

Be careful with which one you get because there was a recall for one of the models.

The good thing about the Crossbow Platinum is it's MUCH cheaper than a similar Bowflex.
I have one.. building it is a two man job and so far it's worked as advertised. I love having to press buttons to increase/decrease resistance, really makes it proficent to move onto the next exercise. Todd |
"I lifted today."
"yeah? me too.....lifted myself out of bed. Actually it was more like a roll....to be honest, I let gravity do most of the work." |

Todd, I've read about the motor on the crossbow quiting and weights not recalibrating after a while. Have you had ay of those problems in the past and how good is the customer servce? |

To be honest, I bought mine when it first came out and I haven't had one issue with my Crossbow. There was a misprint in the manual on how to calibrate it, but they sent me an email with the correct instructions and mine calibrates fine. I had a soloflex years ago and always hated how you had to take the resistance bands on and off all the time, not to mention the pain in going from exercise to exercise. The CB is very easy in terms of switching exercises and if you find it's too easy or hard to lift for a particular exercise, you press a button. One thing, I have mine in my basement and it is pretty tall. Go here: http://www.epinions.com/Wieder_Cross...splay_~reviews to read some personal reviews. |
