Loaded bat? Juiced ball? That HAS to be the case. This ballpark doesn't allow this. I'm very suspicious.

He has a real smooth swing though.

Abreu ends up with 24 HRs in the 1st Round....crazy!

All the games I have been to up there the ball has always carried well to RF - RCF.

Who would cheat in the derby?

I have Extra Innings and am a big Tiger fan. I have watched just about every Tiger game in the past few years (pathetic, I know), and the ball has NEVER, EVER carried like that. Ever.

Its VERY hot out there as well, so I can see the ball carrying well. Great round by Abreu, he deserves to win just for that.

Yeah, but you're not watching batting practice pitchers during regular games, either.

MLB and ESPN. It's all about the ratings. No disrespect to Abreu intended.

I've been to 16 games at Comerica (when I lived back home), and I didn't see a ton of HRs in BP either.

Do we start wondering about steroids now or after the HR Derby.....

Steroids are back in the news now! ;)

One of these bozo announcers said earlier that it is different for these guys because the pitches are coming in around 85 mph opposed to the mid 90's they are used to seeing. I'm sorry...these pitches are coming in around 60-70 mph at best.

Pudge doesn't seem to be suffering much from the lack of steroids and weight loss and all that...

Though it was pretty funny that the fan paired with Abreu (and who won all that C21 money) said that he was a Met fan--and lives in PA to boot.

Didn't see that, but that is pretty funny! Oh well, the Mets are more pathetic than the Phillies!
