Did something really smart or really stupid

Steven Richardson (1576480)
30 years, solid form, healthy
A pleasant guy who is balanced and honest.
Has divine experience and inadequate leadership abilities.

Nationality: USA
Total Skill Index (TSI): 154 970
Wage: 71 960 US$/week
Owner: South Bay Saints
Warnings: 0
Injuries: Healthy

Stamina: wretched Goaltending: divine
Playmaking: disastrous Passing: disastrous
Winger: disastrous Defending: disastrous
Scoring: wretched Set Pieces: disastrous

Matches for National team: 41
Matches for National U-20 team: 16

Paid more than I wanted for him -- 8.7M. Got in a bidding war :P

He is old but keepers loose their skill very slowly, so he is only an injury risk. Plus he should be a couple of levels beyond divine, so he will still be divine when I sell him in a few seasons. So injury is only the real (huge) risk.

I love the wage and it is going to drop further next season. I think he will maintain market value as a result.

It's a good gamble. Now, make sacrifice to Bjorn, the HT god of injuries.

Injury won't be a big deal...just hire 150 docs if he gets hurt. :) Nice buy!

YoSoySean 07-15-2005 07:47 PM

Wow. That wage isn't too bad at all.

Havok 07-16-2005 01:45 AM

bastard... i don't like the fact that now your defense and attack are better then mine!!! (for now!!!!)

Can't touch my middies though ;)

i think its a good buy.... just keep your formidable goalie as a back-up in case Steven gets injuried.

That price is amazing.

I love that the wages are so low. I didn't realize that when someone had told me that you had bought him. If you can keep the injury bug away, this is an awesome investment.

As for the market value, I think you can just assume that you've flushed about $3M down the toilet unless you sell him in the next three seasons. I doubt anyone will pay more than $5M for a 33yo keeper no matter how good he is. That said, it's not entirely flushed in that you're going to be getting a great return in lower wages and higher performance that comprables.
