Another Quick 1980s Song Lyric Quiz
Again, these are all lines from 1980s songs, or maybe late 1970s or early 1990s. I tried to get a little tougher this time. Name the artist/band.
1. To worry, worry, super-scurry (Nena) 2. I’m lost in the darkness of our love (Bruce Springsteen) 3. Ain’t no law against it yet (Cyndi Lauper) 4. C’mon honey, let’s go make some noise (Bangles) 5. It was a place I knew well (Heart) 6. Free at last (U2) 7. The moonlit wings reflect the stars (Toto) 8. Maybe a diamond ring (Traveling Wilburys) 9. I wish that we could lose this crowd (Wham) 10. Standin' on your mama's porch (Bryan Adams) 11. You are the move you make (Yes) 12. On a cold, dark winter's night (REO Speedwagon) 13. She's a natural law (Robert Palmer) 14. Like a teardrop in your palm (Roxette) 15. Steam in the subway (Duran Duran) |
More than half of these ring a bell at least... but here area few of the top of my head:
4 - Manic Monday, Bangles (via Prince) 6 - Pride (In the Name of Love), U2 9 - Careless Whispers, Wham 11 - Owner of a Lonely Heart, Yes |
8 - End of the Line, Traveling Wilburys
|
14- It must have been Love, Roxette?
|
1. 99 luft baloons (nena)

Damn. That one was bugging me. Good job. |
7- Africa- Toto
|
10 makes me think of some bon jovi song...can't place it yet since 99 luft baloons is in my head.
|
5. All I want to do is make love to you - Heart
10. Summer of '69 - Bryan Adams 13. Simply Irresistible - Robert Palmer more to come... |
or bryan adams
same thing |
10 has me thinking of John Mellencamp, but I can't quite place it. (And now I have several of his songs in my head - thanks so much for that) Maybe Cherry Bomb?

never mind, Bryan Adams it is. |
12. REO Speedwagon - Can't Fight this Feeling

15. Hungry Like the Wolf - Duran Duran
Now it's time to go back to work. These were too easy. |
Here's to the closing of the age. :)
|
Oh, I could I forget this...
2. Brilliant Disguise - Bruce Springsteen (one of my favorite songs) |
God, it's embarassing that I know so many of these...
I think #3 is still unsolved...let me think on that one. |
10 - Summer of 69, Bryan Adams

Too late... :) |
Sorry. Saw the speculation after it and the top post. You win. :)
|
Still got one hanging.
|
I'm ashamed, but I believe #3 is She Bop by Cyndi Lauper.
|
#3 just came to me...it was probably the most obscure.
Cyndi Lauper - She Bop It's pitiful, but it seems I can remember most of the lyrics and song titles from the 80s. |
Cyndi Lauper. But I can't name the title at all.
|
I'm pretty happy that I only knew 2 or 3 of these....
|
We all posted at 1:25, but Raider WINS!!! :)
|
Just win baby.

The real question is which one? I'm missing Wham! and the Traveling Wilburys, but that's it. Every other one is in my CD collection. Pitiful, isn't it? |

Feel free to do another one on your own, Blackie. I may do another but it will probably be tonight at the earliest. |
