Selling a Creative Zen Xtra 40GB
so, I recently won a Creative Zen Xtra MP3 player (40GB) (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...onics&n=507846)
I've heard they are pretty cool, but I don't think I'm going to use it. I prefer my iPod (and I'm still sworn to my lifelong vow against ever using another Creative Labs product). So I thought I'd put a feeler out to see if anyone was looking to buy one. I don't really want to go the eBay route - if I can't find a buyer, I'll just end up finding a use for it. One can always use a shiny doorstop ;) It's in it's original packaging - I haven't even opened it. Amazon sells if for $222. I'm asking $200, and I'll pay for ground or priority mail to ship it to you. |
I'll give you $10

$10 is better than nothing

$10.25, bitch.
The little lady has a birthday coming up... |
I just bought a Zen Micro. Love it. I don't need 40GB, though - there's no way I could put my entire collection on one of those things, and it ain't replacing my CDs. But it's nice to have a healthy selection of CDs when traveling.

DD, out of curiousity, why are you so against Creative products? I mean, don't get me wrong, I heart my iPod, and like the rumors I've heard so far of the iPod video. Still, this looks darn sexy (some picture quality sucky because of me resizing it)

Creative is a shitty company. At least that's why it pains me to give them any money.

$25

I did a bunch of research on micros before settling on Creative's, and nearly every review gave Creative the edge over iPod. The only things iPod beat it for were things that didn't matter to me, like "fashion" and compatibility with iTunes. Substance-wise, every review I read said that the Zen had far superior sound quality to the iPod. Not to mention an extra GB, FM transmitter, and recorder for the same money.

I had one of the first generation Nomads (in all it's USB 1 glory). The unit itself was fine. What I didn't like was the software. Not only was it's interface clunky, but driver updates were difficult to find/install. And, worst of all, they were one of the first big spyware offenders, secretly installing something that dialed home. While I'm not some privacy nut, this spyware was pretty poorly implemented and fucked up my system pretty badly. I got all kinds mysterious crashes before I finally figured out that Creative was causing it. Definitely soured me on them. |

I have this same model (60 gig actually) and have been extremely, extremely pleased with it for quite some time. You simply cannot beat the value (although the iPod price drop is closing the gap).
my more detailed thoughts are in this thread from over a year ago: http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~fof/foru...light=creative |
