Did you cry in little league?
 

I'm watching the Little League World Series, and a kid got hit on the hand and he was crying (and he had horrible bunting form, don't wrap your hand around it, 2 fingers and your knuckles behind it, they taught us that way early). I swear, I got hit an enourmous amount of times, and I know I never cried. Now their kids, but you can't cry on national TV.

We played a softball team full of girls once, I think they were a couple years older so some genius thought it was a fair game. I stole second base and slid into the girl that was covering shins. She cried, long and hard right off the field and never returned.

I felt bad :(. What the hell were they doing having us play them though?

I cried when I struck out before. I was a baby when I was a kid though. Havent cried since I was 13 though. Told myself I wouldnt ever cry in front of people after the last time.

I bawled after my last Legion game, but that's different.

A pitcher who had a nasty curve ball that started at your eyes and dropped threw me one that rose, didn't drop and wasn't a curve. I stepped into the pitch and it cracked me in the face. When I hit the deck, I ended up landing on the bat I'd just dropped, which knocked the wind out of me.

I could feel the blood dripping down my forehead, I couldn't breath and I was in shock. I cried like a 2 year old.

Now, I'm on national TV and I realize I may not get another at bat because I can't feel my fingers? You double the frustration, triple the tears, and quadruple the anger.

I think I might have cried a little after my first lose (because it was kind of a controversy. We should not have lost but the umpire wanted to be a hard nose dick about the rules. Jesus Christ dude, we're children. Being nitpicky about some damn obscure rule in an intraburough baseball game....*sigh*...anyway). But that was it. I wasn't into double digit age yet, but am unsure if I was 7 or 8.

My nickname has "Hard Head" in little league, because I took so many balls to the forehead (well, they said to keep my eye on the ball). Never cried. I took a fastball right between the eyes. Never cried. When the coach said we couldn't go to Dairy Queen after one game, then I cried. :)

What kinda crazy-ass stance did you have that allowed you to get drilled by a ball between the eyes?

I'm assuming he took a bunch of balls to the head from fielding, Logan.

I was hit with a fastball in the side of my head when I was 9. It was excruciating pain. I cried. I think that was the last time I ever cried in a public place that wasn't a funeral.

i also got blasted in the head by a line drive (i was a pitcher) got knocked unconscious and had 18 stiches. didnt cry!

It was the first pitch of the first game of the season. The kid had a rifle arm and absolutely no control. His fitst pitch went straight for my head, and it shocked me so much that I just watched it hit me. Everyone was shocked it didn't break my nose, but my dad said it was the sickest "thud" he'd ever heard.

Pain doesn't make me cry. Movies do.

Yes, the fore-head shots were fielding. The shot he was talking about was at the plate, though.

I cried when I got nailed in the nutsack by a ball. Like a baby. And I always wore a cup after that.

I hit a my first home run in little league and a woman umpire called me out for throwing my bat. I cried on the bench, but I never threw my bat again.

Not for getting hit, but I was often hard on myself if I did not play well.

You should've told her she doesn't belong on the field.

I wore parachute pants when I played little league. Those of us who wear parachute pants don't cry.

I remember crying after striking out or making an error, yet I also remember getting drilled in the head hard enough to break my batting helmet and being OK with that.

When I watch these games on TV, I feel terrible for those kids. I got upset striking out in front of my friends, imagine doing it in front of a million people on TV. And their poor parents...

Never played little league, but I do have a funny story about crying.

My friend Josh was on a team against his friend and neighbor Jason. Jason was pitching against Josh's team.

Josh struck out with some people on base to end the game. They were down a couple runs. Josh was responsible for the last out so I can understand why he was crying. After the game, Jason's dad (who was friends with Josh's parents) came down from the stands to help console josh.

Jason's dad said to josh 'you got nothing to be ashamed of. you got nothing to cry about. jason and that whole fucking team were probably cheating.'

understand that Jason's dad was divorced from jason's mom. broken home and jason's dad didn't really like his kid. he was also a town drunk.

I never cried from getting hurt.

I did cry after a game where I hit a grand slam and we still lost. My team really sucked, I felt they let me down. We were the worst team in the league, and I don't think we won a single game that year (Probably like 0-23). Looking back on it, I think it prepared me for real life: every job I've worked at, I've busted my ass, but my co-workers were complete idiots that only destroyed everything I did. It tought me alot about teamwork, and how I needed to keep the team as far as possible away from me so they wouldn't screw things up.

Reminds me of one of our baseball tournaments this summer where we were in position to win our first game of the summer aka to end an 18 game losing streak. They had a guy on 1st and 2nd with 0 out and their cleanup hitter hit a shot to dead center and I ran full speed into the fence, made the catch got up and flung the ball into the infield where we were able to double off the guy at first to give us 2 outs. Had to call timeout to wipe the blood off my face (chainlink suck), and the next batter hit an easy pop up to our left fielder. He dropped it, their guy scored, we went to extras and lost. Didn't cry but felt like shit.

Once, on my little league team when I was like 10 or something, I was playing right field in practice and had a line shot hit at me. The ball was tailing pretty bad towards the foul line and when I went to make the catch, the ball basically curved around my glove and hit me right on the face. I remember trying to play it off, but man did I see some stars. Then the blood starting coming and it didn't let up. I tried to be tough at first but it was like a faucet, and when clots actually started coming out (huge, almost chunky globs of blood) as well as broken teeth, I started to cry.

This is at the point where my parents, who were late to the game, happen to come and see me spitting up about a gallon of blood and both come running onto the playing field to see if I was alright. Mind you, in the middle of the game, pretty classic. Well, my coach wouldn't touch me because he didn't have any gloves (give me a break) and so he was basically letting me sit there and bleed with no consolation. Once my parents came onto the field my mom consoled me all the way to the hospital and my dad gave my coach a verbal beatdown right there on the field. I still can't stand that coach, he was such an ass.

I needed something like 20 stitches on my lip and in my mouth as well as lost 3 of my front teeth. I also got to drink through a straw for 2 weeks until the swelling in my mouth went down. I think if the same thing happened to me now I'd still cry and I'm 24. It was bad.

I got hit in the head when I was 11, and I cried. But I think it was more from the shock than the actual pain.

We lost a 13 inning playoff game that took a second day to finish when I was 16 in a summer league that had me in tears, if not "crying" per se. Got consoled by some of the girls who watched us play, which had it work out.
