Probable Injuries
how risky is it to play players that are probable from your experiences?
in your experiences do they also perform well when playing? thanks |
It depends on the injury.
Knee injuries are always risky, I won't even activate players with a knee injury. I do the same with players who are coming back from 'out' injuries. I have no real feedback on the performance hit, not much, but the gut feeling says players play to about 50-75% of their normal level of play when hurt. If my backups are good enough, I won't hesistate to replace the starters, even in important games. Crucial divisional games are an exception for me, those are must-win games at any cost. |
I'll play them at probable unless they have a rotator cuff injury. I've seen enough of those 1-week probables go to 35-40 week injuries that it has scared me off from using guys with that injury.

I play probables unless: 1) there is not much drop off to the backup, or 2) the type of injury could lead to much worse (knees are riskier, and yes if they used to be "out" that's part of it).
