Gilligan Died

CNN.com's breaking news.

WSUCougar 09-06-2005 01:51 PM

So long, little buddy. May you find another Mary Ann in your next uncharted desert isle.

Butter 09-06-2005 01:55 PM

I wonder to whom he left his bong?

Bubba Wheels 09-06-2005 02:12 PM

Must be a curse involved. They keep dying off, one by one.

I assume he owed one to Mary Ann and bequeathed it to her.

Maynard > Gilligan, IMHO. Very under-rated show.

Yet another television personality from my childhood dies...so sad.

At least he had Mary Ann and Ginger on the island.

Bubba Wheels 09-06-2005 02:54 PM

Dobie Gillis, Gilligan's Island, Dusty's Trail, Good Guys...any left out?

saldana 09-06-2005 02:57 PM

i never knew the skipper and professor had names until i read the article on CNN.com

JeeberD 09-06-2005 03:16 PM

:(

I loved watching Dobbie Gillis on Nick at Night back in high school...

Without being disrespectful, with everything going on in New Orleans right now does this really qualify as "Breaking News" on CNN?

Ksyrup 09-06-2005 03:22 PM

What else were they going to flash up there? Nothing else was breaking at the moment, I assume.

Ksyrup 09-06-2005 03:23 PM

I take the CNN "Breaking News" things to mean, "We found out about it first, but wanted to tell you before we wrote an article about it." Not that it is of prime importance all the time, but just a "we told you first" type of thing.

Rasmuth 09-06-2005 07:56 PM

New Orleans is old news now.

Buccaneer 09-06-2005 07:58 PM

Another childhood hero passes away.

Schmidty 09-06-2005 07:59 PM

Sad. :(

As an aside, I keep seeing this thread as "Gillian dies" and automatically think of Dana Scully in a casket.
