Wow, I thought the Cowboys would be considered a sleeper at best this year, but it seems like everyone is picking them as a Wild Card. I wouldn't go that far yet, although it's certainly possible. But if I was making predictions, I don't think the Cowboys would be there.

Wow. Two of them picked the Lions to be a Wild Card team and one picked them to win the Division? Two thoughts: 1) I would like some of whatever they're on and 2) I find their faith in the team encouraging, if not somewhat misplaced.

These guys are idiots. Everyone knows the Raiders are going to take it home this year.

I don't think we should throw away all of the preseason hopes for the Lions because of a few lousy preseason games. I mean, we both know that they'll choke and do nothing as usual, but I'd take the choking early-90's that were exciting to watch anyday.

Of course! I would be happy with a 9-7 season and a Wild Card birth. That'd be fantastic. Even if the envitible playoff meltdown/catastrophe were to occur.

At the moment I just have no faith in the offensive line, defensive pass rush, or the coaching staff. Harrington's play has slid a bit down the "worry chart".

Despite being a Vikings fan, I always have had a soft spot for the Lions. I enjoyed those Barry Sanders-era teams, the Wayne Fontes Watch, etc.

I believe they left out the Raiders in that list. Therefore, I cannot take anything else they said seriously

See, that's the atitude I like to see. I can't see why anyone would hate the Lions. First, Barry Sanders was just too much fun to watch. Just pure joy on the football field. Wayne Fontes, while a horrible coach, was just so goofy looking, especially in his extreme-cold parka. His Rasputin-like ways were astounding. The Lions have never been good enough to hate. They have never really been a thorn in anyone's side. They just entertain and make people happy (especially opposing teams that beat them on such a regular basis). The Lions are all good.

This is why I am stunned when I hear opposing fans berating the Lions. Mocking them? Sure. Making fun of them? Sure. Being very disappointed if your team actually loses to them? Sure. But actually hating them? Impossible, I say.
