I GOT A JOB!!!
 

Well, I'm sure many of you remember my "Please Help: Interview Preparation" thread from earlier this week, and may know that I had an interview with a company I'd really like to work for yesterday. Well, today, I'm STOKED to announce that they called me back and made me an offer!!! :) :) :) :) After 8+ months of being unemployed and NOT qualifying for unemployment, I'm thrilled to have a job, both for the challenge of the job and for the money.

In theory, I will get the letter on Friday, and start Monday.

Just wanted to share this information with you, and thank everybody for their help in that thread and good vibes. :)

I've been "temping" for the last 4+ months for Midway Games, and next Monday I "officially" start as an employee of Surreal Software (Midway's subsidiary in Seattle). My start date will happily coincide with my birthday - hopefully I can make it in to my 2nd day without a raging hangover...

Congratulations, I'm glad you got the job. Now you get let your hair down and not wash your fingers for weeks!

This is REALLY funny because it's normally only in "professional" or work settings that I really EVER wear "my hair down." I mean, I usually pull it back into a ponytail or braid (or some modification thereof), but I keep it down for things where I need to be professional (meetings, interviews, presentations, my thesis defense).

That said, I'm just about done Guinness number 1 so I'm definitely celebrating. Thanks all, once again!!! :)
