Scared as hell right now

I was just at work and I just got off of the phone with her. She is at work as well. She just told me that she has had a bad headache since yesterday with pain behind her left eye and her jaw was "stiff" yesterday. However, the stiffnes in her jaw is gone today. She still has the pain in her ey and the headache though. I told her I am going to ge pick her up to go to the emergency room but she dones't think it is that serious. She thinks this because she thinks the paion is coming from her left ear. Why her left ear? Because a few months ago she was wearing earphones at the gyym and a load scream came over the radio that was attched to the treadmill. Siunce then she has complained of left ear pain. Sometimes the pain from her left ear goes to her left side of her head - which may be what is inducing pain in her left ey BUT why the stiffness of the jaw? To me that is a sign os stroke! My mother died of a brain aneurysm in 1988 and I remember clearly what the symptoms were. She always had pain in or beind her eyes with headaches. Man, I as soo fricken worried right now......I am about to leave to bring her to the hospital so I hope she goes with me.

do bring her to the hospital asap
don't worry until you know there's something to worry about

hope everything turns out ok

I have been through so many ear problems ever...the jaw stiffness is related to ear if its stiff from pain, the eye pain I have never had but I do know my exploded ear drum was the worst pain ever....

I agree with the ear hypotheses. The inner ear can be fickle in altering your awareness and feeling throught your ear/nose/throat and corresponding areas. Worth a visit to the doctor, but try to maintain your calm. The chances of it being something as serious as you infer is rather slim.

Regards,
Chas

Thanks guys. I just got back (about 10 mins ago). They did a CAT scan and found nothing. The doctor believes the headache is due to migranes and he couldn't explain the ear pain. My wife has a follow up with an ear doctor next week sometime. Just want to say thanks to God because I get so worried over things of this nature. Although I still am somewhat concnerd, I believe that she is OK.

I got in late, but I was going to say that outside of the ear pain (old pain) the other symptoms (headache, pain behind eye, etc - new pain) sounded suspiciously like a migraine.

Think this could have been caused by someone eating too many brownies?

KevinNU7 09-28-2005 09:50 AM

Are you going to sue the gym?

tucker342 09-28-2005 10:45 AM

I'm glad to hear that it wasn't anything serious. It was still a good choice to take her to the emergency room though, better to be safe than sorry.

bbor 09-28-2005 11:19 AM

I think it's cause you ate the brownies :)

Whoa, this is completely out of bounds. Max has a legitimate reason to worry considering what his mom went through. I know you're trying to make a joke, but this is a bad one.

Max, I hope her doctor's appt. goes well next week and I'm glad you took her in to make sure it wasn't a stroke. Gluck

I don't think he was looking for a joke coming his way.
