According to Lock of the Day:

Chicago Bears +3

Today we're going with the Bears. They're a much better team than the Browns, and will prove it today. Cleveland's sluggish offense will have trouble scoring points on the highly-ranked Bears defense (4th overall). Kyle Orton has had a week off to review his mistakes and Cedric Benson will be seeing more time to keep fresh legs in the backfield. Chicago's D will keep them in this game the entire time, while their offense should indeed wake up in Cleveland (Browns 30th overall D). The Bears +3? What a LOCK!

DeToxRox 10-09-2005 12:15 PM

Lions score early on a Jones TD Run.

Bonus points for his Deion Sanders TD celebration with Deion on the field.

Solecismic 10-09-2005 12:17 PM

Bonnie Bernstein is looking a little under the weather. I think she's playing hurt today.

Will the Pats/Falcons game end 0-0? No. Much more impressive on the latest drive. The bomb to Branch opened things up.

Jenkins has already taken a full game's worth of hard hits. I thought Wilson should have been penalized on the first one, but the announcers didn't say a word.

cthomer5000 10-09-2005 12:19 PM

The Jets stuff Tampa 3 and out on their first posession, then fumble the punt, eventually resulting in a Tampa field goal.

vinny has taken the field. ....

cthomer5000 10-09-2005 12:23 PM

Vinny looked good on the openiing drive, but Mike Nugent misses a 40 yard field goal. fucking rookie.

st.cronin 10-09-2005 12:26 PM

6 yard TD run from Pat Pass - nice drive from the Pats.

DeToxRox 10-09-2005 12:32 PM

Wow. This play in the Lions game if it stands is gonna be nuts.

DeToxRox 10-09-2005 12:33 PM

Harrington loses control of the ball, but could be a throw. Everyone stops but the refs dont' blow the whistle. Jones picks it up and runs it to the 1. Insane. Play is under review now though.

DeToxRox 10-09-2005 12:35 PM

Wow. Play stands. Great job by the refs not to blow it dead and let it continue.

Lions on the one on a total fluke!

Solecismic 10-09-2005 12:37 PM

There's a highlight we'll see over and over tonight. Daniel Graham on an amazing catch and run immediately after the announcers point out New England TEs have just one touchdown this season.

DeToxRox 10-09-2005 12:37 PM

TD #2 Kevin Jones!

13-0 with the upcoming EP.

Amazing.

Horrible call.

Makes up for last week. A little bit...

But... TOUCHDOWN KEVIN JONES!!!!

14-0.

st.cronin 10-09-2005 12:37 PM

14-0 Pats; they look like they came to kick ass today.

DeToxRox 10-09-2005 12:37 PM

14-0.

I am loving it.

Agreed, sketchy call at best. But the refs did it right because ya didnt know when it happened and they let it go on.

Coffee Warlord 10-09-2005 12:41 PM

I really get the feeling the Bears reallllly lost faith in Orton. Run run run run run run run run run run run run run run.

Coffee Warlord 10-09-2005 12:43 PM

Dola. Ruben Brown injured and back in the locker room. O-Line depth is not something the Bears have. Eesh.

DeToxRox 10-09-2005 12:43 PM

EARL HOLMES LAYS THE WOOD!

Fumble on a good Baltimore drive and Lions get it back.

hoopsguy 10-09-2005 12:46 PM

If the Bears want to hammer it out on the ground perhaps they could give the ball to Jones instead of trying to justify their Benson pick?

Coffee Warlord 10-09-2005 12:48 PM

And that aforementioned lack of depth shows. Int return to the 10, it's now 3rd and goal on the 30 something, after the sub guard gets called for a Facemask, and allows a sack.

edit: That sub guard (Roberto Garza) was an FA signing. Another stellar Angelo move.

DeToxRox 10-09-2005 12:52 PM

Joey throws a horrible pass. Suggs makes the play and runs it back deep into Detroit territory.

DeToxRox 10-09-2005 12:55 PM

YES! DRE BLY INT IN THE ENDZONE!

DeToxRox 10-09-2005 12:55 PM

Bly with INT #2 this half. Third Ravens turnover of the game. Joey got saved on this one.

Honolulu_Blue 10-09-2005 12:56 PM

Dre Bly!!!

Damnit Bly, take a knee. Take. A. Knee. He just can't control himself once he gets the ball in his hands. His crazy laterals, trying to run it out of the endzone... Oh well, I'll take it if he keeps making plays.

TazFTW 10-09-2005 01:02 PM

You hit a ref and no ejection?

DeToxRox 10-09-2005 01:02 PM

Roy Williams is questionable to return now. Not good. We're down to three WR to my knowledge. Mike Williams, Kevin Johnson and Scotty Vines. Drummond is out too so there is another WR.

-Mojo Jojo- 10-09-2005 01:04 PM

I'll be damned, the Packers came to play this week.

cthomer5000 10-09-2005 01:05 PM

The Jets are going to wint hte Super Bowl. go Vinny!

DeToxRox 10-09-2005 01:05 PM

Damn. Nice shovel pass to Lewis for a Ravens score.

Actually I just think the Saints are that bad... :p

st.cronin 10-09-2005 01:09 PM

Warrick Dunn is a stud. And I agree, the Saints are bad. I still like them to win the Leinart sweepstakes.

At 0-4, nothing is a gimme..

Ironhead 10-09-2005 01:31 PM

Wow, Atlanta's punter just kicked a 58 yard field goal!

Crapshoot 10-09-2005 01:32 PM

Okay, that was funny. That punter looked good.

Solecismic 10-09-2005 01:32 PM

Stupid timeout shennanigans from the Patriot defense cost them a field goal. I know freezing the kicker is in vogue these days, but this last-second time out fake stuff is really annoying. Someone should drop a 15-yarder and end this.

Cringer 10-09-2005 01:33 PM

THE GREEN BAY PACKERS ARE GOING TO THE SUPERBOWL!!!!!

Ok, maybe not.

Still a good day for once this year.

jeff061 10-09-2005 01:33 PM

Why did they try to ice them on a 58 yard FG. I hate the idea of icing in general, but on a 58 yarder?

hehehe--great move Pats, thanks.

jeff061 10-09-2005 01:35 PM

The guy had no pressure on him to hit it. He's just going to go up there and kick the hell out of the ball and hope it goes through. Making him think about isn't going to accomplish anything.

Honolulu_Blue 10-09-2005 01:37 PM

The Lions are just barely hanging on with Baltimore playing like absolute crap. Absolute. Crap. They have a kajillion penalties. The Lions are down to three wideouts and can't run the ball for sh*t.

Solecismic 10-09-2005 01:40 PM

New Orleans' closet is filling up with excrement. 35-3.

st.cronin 10-09-2005 01:57 PM

Brady is 10-12 for 220 yards.

TazFTW 10-09-2005 02:00 PM

I think its time to get Aaron Rodgers some playing time.

hoopsguy 10-09-2005 02:08 PM

Once again Benson is killing the Bears - although they should have challenged there.

INDalltheway 10-09-2005 02:11 PM

Thomas Jones has looked sooooo good too.. I just don't see why you would want to replace him so bad with the numbers he is putting up.

Tekneek 10-09-2005 02:12 PM

Can't depend on the damn Falcons to take care of the Patriots.

DeToxRox 10-09-2005 02:12 PM

Terrell Suggs gets ejected from the Lions/Ravens game for bumping the ref.

This game is turning into a black and blue game.

Bodies everywhere.

Old school football, I love it.

TroyF 10-09-2005 02:12 PM

Brady is playing pissed off today. He looks good. I'm not sure it's going to cover up the Pats long term defensive problems though. They still look pretty poor. And as good as Brady is, he isn't going 15/17 for 295 every week.

jeff061 10-09-2005 02:13 PM

Brady sure stepped it up this week. Thankfully. I don't trust the defense to keep Atlanta down.
