Anyone familiar with USPS Shipping/Transit times?
I've been trying to get a gauge on how long domestic shipping normally takes via USPS, but I've been having a hard time finding some kind of chart that would depict it as such.
First off, I'm not quite so sure how to classify some packages, but I'm supposedly going to receive a package via 'Parcel Post' (?). I'm not quite so sure if this is much different than 'Media Mail' or the like, or if that's via ground, etc...etc.. Anyone familiar with USPS shipping? The skinny is pretty much: "Standard Flat Rate Parcel Post" (I'm assuming this is USPS), from Michigan to California. It's pretty much been over a week at the least. EDIT: So far, my endeavors on USPS.com have only gotten me to a description of what a Parcel Post is, but nothing on transit times. ![]() |
I'd say somewhere between 3-7 working days. Just a guess.

I'd imagine Saturday would be considered a 'working day' as well?
Ugh. I thought the 'Calculate Postage' would take me to some screen that would take into account transit times, but I guess I was mistaken. |
Saturday is not a working day. Most college football games are on.

Parcel Post is pretty much the slowest method for shipping a package with USPS.(Media mail & other specialty types not withstanding). It's no frills, no special handling, just give it to them & it'll get there whenever it gets there. In my experience over that sort of distance, probably about a week, maybe a couple of days more.

Huh. I had thought the USPS would be active at least on Saturday. Still, I didn't realize that today was also a holiday as well... ![]() |

Crap...I hope I didn't get screwed over then. I guess my 'good eBay' streak is nearing an end then.. |
