Well, since you asked.....Just kidding. This is alittle long winded, but I'm bored at work so why not....
I met her like 2 weeks ago while I was working. I struck up a conversation with her and realized right away we had a ton in common. Well, at the end of the conversation I asked her for her phone number and she gave it to me. Now, this is not something that I would usually do especially since she was very attractive, and to be honest for most of the conversation (with her), I was having that ever dreaded debate in my head which goes something like this:
Optimistic side: "Ask her out you [insert derogatory word here"
Pessimistic side: "No, don't ask her out, she doesn't like you"
Optimistic side: "Just ask her--worst case she says "no""
Pessimistic side: "exactly, she can say no and scar you for life, just don't ask her and you won't have to deal with it"
[Usually this debate would end here and I would leave with no number, but for some reason, I continued on]
Optimistic side: "Get 'er Done!"
Fast forward the typical 3 days. I call her up (on a Monday) and take her out to a Starbucks for coffee. Conversation goes well, but we met at the 'Bucks and there really wasn't an opening for anything more to happen. I left kinda disappointed but she was a really cool girl and the conversation went well so I decided to call her again (the main points of the conversation were normal--where did you grow up, what do you do for a living, etc, but I was throwing jokes here and there and definately using the cocky/funny approach--I was actually impressing myself with some of the stuff I was coming up with--You know, one of those situations where you throw a phrase or joke out there and then think to yourself, "where the hell did that just come from!"--in a good way)
I waited a couple more days (Thurs--last week) and invited her out for more of an official date. She was very receptive. We went and played some pool (which is a great game btw for flirting. More cocky/funny--as I'm actually decent at pool so I was able to talk alittle trash (in a nice way)--just enough to pique her interest, along with giving pointers for improving her game. Well, there was some KINO going on and the such, but nothing too serious. I took her home and from there I gave her a hug goodnight. I left feeling pretty crappy, because I knew I should have made a move, but didn't and felt like I could have really messed anything up that we might have had (the dreaded "friends" feelings).
Fast forward to Sunday. I went camping up in Big Sur for the weekend so I wasn't around to hangout with her again for the weekend, but called her up Sunday and invited her to my house for Poker (insert joke here) on Monday night.
Background: 4 firefighters, my two roomates, and myself get together on Monday nights for beer drinking, watching football, and playing poker--the perfect environment for a girl right?!
Well, she had mentioned to me before that she liked Hold 'Em so I figured why not? Plus, she hadn't met my roomates yet and this seemed like a good time to see if she would get along with some of my friends.
Well, she had a soccer game early in the night, but said she'd come by later to hangout--which she did, about an hour after we had starting playing. Well, she got along great with all of my friends but I must say her poker skills could use alittle work..... :) . Well, when everyone was taking off around 11:30 or so last night I walked her out to her car and finally ponied up and gave her a kiss--and a very nice one at that. I turned around and proceded to walk back into my house feeling weightless--I love that feeling. Obviously, all of my guy friends gave me a bunch of deserved crap when I walked back into the house because of the smirk on my face, but I could have cared less.
And then I watched some Ultimate Fighting before I went to bed.
To sum up the day yesterday (quite possibly the best day a guy can have):
1. Played Poker
2. Drank Beer
3. Watched Monday Night Football
4. Made Out with an attractive girl
5. Watched Ultimate Fighting
To sum up the girl:
1. 5'8'', brunette with Blonde highlights
2. Soccer Player (I'll be honest: nice legs, nice butt)
3. Very Nice Smile (thats the reason I even noticed her in the first place--
well that and #2 above ;)
4. Her profession is a teacher
5. Likes to play Hold 'Em
6. Definately the cutest girl I've ever dated
Sorry for the long post, but like I said, I'm bored at work.
