The Battle of Britain

Welcome to another dynsaty attempt. I have never had many good dynasties, maybe only 1 or 2, but we will see how this one goes

July 10th 6:30 AM
I have been assigned to head up the air war over britain. Hitler has ordered us to gain air superiority over britain in preperation for an eventual land assault. It is my job then, to crush their air force quickly, and before the end of summer.

Here is the aircraft I have that are combat ready.
Me109 106
Me110 102
Ju87 114
Do17 60

Our esimates of enemy aircraft is as follows
Spitfire 304
Hurricanes 544

My initial strategy will be to order my Stuka's bomb the coastal radar stations. My bombers will concentrate on attacking airfields and their factories. I will be hitting section 11 almost exclusively, and I pray that this will be a quick campaign.

Which game?

Im using BOB2. The flying part of the game is pretty buggy still, and I always enjoyed the first BOB. The downside is that they didnt seem to change much of anything in the strategy part of the game...

First Blood

July 10th 0700 hours

I finally get some coffee in me, and start to plan out the first missions of the day. My early goal is to knock out the airfields near the coastline, and the radar stations. I launch four recon planes to different locations.

I target the Airfields and Hawkinge and Manston. I target the Radar at dover and foreness. Once recon is complete I will decide if I should attack there later this afternoon.

July 10 0900 Hours
The Recon missions have returned, and I have some much needed intel about the targets. The skies are cloudy, which will hurt our effectiveness at attacking the enemy airfields, but I am confident that the Dive bombers can effectively hit the 2 radar stations.

Bad news strikes as I learn that only my JU87's are ready to fly right now. So I switch gears a bit, and decide to just hit the radar this morning. Here is my mission craft

We have pretty bad luck to begin the morning. of the three missions sent out, only one is able to find their target. Dover suffers some damage, but we are unable to permanently knock it out. It was probably my fault somewhat, as the bombers started their run a bit high. First blood was drawn though, as each side lost 1 fighter in the action. No word yet on our pilot.

Afternoon Skirmish

July 10th 1110 hours
Weather reports are still not good. Cloudy all over the place, not that it matters, since I have no aircraft available to fly right now. We recieve some update information about the target we managed to hit. Updated recon shows that only a few small buildings were hit, along with a nice gravel road, and a stack of firewood. The main radar tower is still operational, and we will need to attack it again soon I fear.

July 10th 16:00 hours
My Ju87's are ready to fly again, so I decide to hit the radar tower at dover once again. I also plan a strike against Hawkgine.

The attacks are successful. Dover is hit hard and recon shows damage to all of their towers. The recon plane I sent to review Hawkinge never made it home. We end the day losing 7 aircraft. We shoot down 10 aircraft though, and damage another nine. Not a bad day, but we can do better.
