Dancing With the Stars 2 (Ping: Vince)

Among the celebrities taking part in Dancing With The Stars 2:

- Robert Wagner (Hart to Hart)
- Lisa Rinna (Soap actress?)
- Drew Lachey (98 degrees)
- Jerry Rice

So, that answers the question of who this year's Holyfield is.

Joe 11-26-2005 01:57 PM

amazing

Vince 11-27-2005 04:18 AM

Wow. I guess Holyfield was remarkable on the show last year in some respect? Was he remarkably bad, or remarkably good? Or was he just the only Athlete?

Ksyrup 11-27-2005 05:56 AM

Lisa Rinna was on Days of Our lives, I think. My wife watched it all the time. She has incredibly ridiculous looking, collagen-enhanced lips. She's married to Harry Hamlin. A dynamo acting duo there. She's probably 15 years older than the chick they had last time.

To answer the above, Holyfield was anything but remarkable. All of the celebrities were at least fairly decent -- better than many of us could do, I would suspect. The judges on the show did say that Holyfield wasn't really good enough to be competitive, but to the untrained eye (like mine), he seemed fine to me. He doesn't really have a build that's made for ballroom dancing, and I was actually surprised at how well he was able to move. Yeah, I know that footwork is an important part of boxing, but I wouldn't have expected that footwork to translate so well to that type of dancing.

Also, he was the only athlete last time.

Wrong...Trista Rehn (The Bachelorette Chick) was a dancer/cheerleader for some pro sports team, but I can't remember which one right now...but anyway, that makes her an athelete too. ;)

My bad. I guess I meant that Evander Holyfield was the only pro sports player in the competition.

If I remember correctly, Trista was the first one out anyway, so she didn't last long enough in the competition to count. :)

Yeah, she was horrible...her dancing was awful but the funniest part was when she said she was uncomfortable dancing "that close" to another guy b/c now she is a married woman. She actually had her husband come in and give his "OK" for her to do some dance.

Can't wait for the new season though! :)

So why didn't she just dance with her husband?

She got Legs :)

Eaglesfan27 12-11-2005 03:21 PM

Back in the day, I had a huge thing for Tia Carrere. I still doubt that will get me to watch this show.

TazFTW 12-11-2005 03:22 PM

Poor Kenny Mayne.

tucker rocky 01-05-2006 08:32 PM

Anybody watching?

tucker rocky 01-05-2006 08:40 PM

Jerry Rice and that hot babe looked good.

tucker rocky 01-05-2006 08:41 PM

Master P, I have to say, was not good.

Schmidty 01-05-2006 08:42 PM

COME ON.

Dancing with the Stars? And SD is complaining about women posting so much? I think they're more masculine than this crap.

Toddzilla 01-05-2006 08:44 PM

I watched Stacy Keibler and now there's some dancin' in my pants.

I want her body - she has the most amazing, cut, healthy looking yet still female looking body I have ever seen...how many sit ups and crunches to I have to do to get her abs????

A lot. ;)

oliegirl 01-05-2006 09:09 PM

OMG - I take back all the bad things I said about Kenny Mayne's dancing...I just saw Master P!!!! That was just beyond hideous, how the judges saw anything good to say about that is beyond me.

I do kind of hope he comes back next week though, for one he only had 1 week to train, but if nothing else he'd provide the comic scenes for the show :)

Schmidty 01-05-2006 11:04 PM

Stacy Keibler did well, but I can honestly say that I am totally and utterly not attracted to her. She is way too masculine for me. I need some meat and some fat, yes fat, on my woman's bones.

I just watched this (because of my wife) and I saw nothing wrong with Kenny's dancing. Granted I have NO rhythm and I am a HORRIBLE dancer, but he seemed ok to me. I just don't get it.

You are my hero! I am going to buy you a leotard, tights and a cape and call you "Reality Man"...every woman in the world will want to date you!

You need to excuses Schmidty. His goggle image is obviously broken.

You sound like those people who are interviewed after hearing some God-awful American Idol contestant who say they thought the singing was pretty good. They almost always follow it up with "...of course I'm tone deaf and have no idea what a good singer sounds like."

My wife watched the first hour (we switched to CSI at 9), but I didn't really follow it. I like the fact that he's on the show simply because he's got an odd sense of humor that won't translate for 98% of the target audience. It's like they knowingly threw a bone to the husbands being forced to watch the show. Pretty smart move on their part.

The name didn't ring a bell, but that description made the name Billie pop up in my head. After confirmation from IMDB, I now feel stupid for having watched Days of Our Lives on a daily base about 10 years ago.

rkmsuf 01-06-2006 01:32 PM

Master P looked like a damn fool out there. Nice baseball cap jackass.

Raiders Army 01-06-2006 03:08 PM

Saw Stacey and she looked damn good. Remember she was a cheerleader and a Nitro girl as well as wrestler. Wish I could've seen Jerry Rice, but Earl and The Office came on and I missed that part.

Schmidty 01-06-2006 03:09 PM

I actually watched it last night. :(

It wasn't bad. Why did they say Kenny Mayne was bad? I thought he did a good job.

Yep, that's her. Back when I used to come home for lunch on a regular basis and when my wife used to tape soaps and watch them at night, I used to know everything going on in those damned shows. However, once I started treating them like my own personal MST3000 episode, my wife was less inclined to continue taping them.

Klinglerware 01-06-2006 03:31 PM

Drew Lachey was pretty good, but being in a boy band and in "Rent" probably makes him overqualified. I thought Jerry Rice performed well, also. Master P brought nothing to the table, but his partner looked good.

MizzouRah 01-06-2006 03:47 PM

Stacy Keibler is one hot woman. Sheesh... I need some air.

Cheerleading / Dancer doesn't make her an athelete.

Way too masculine? I have some pictures that I can link to (no nudity, just sexy) that should change your opinion there. I am a little scared of what would constitute a boxing though. They could be hosted from my own website. I am just waiting for the inevitable Playoby spread, I was surprised that Torrie Wilson beat her to it.

jbmagic 01-06-2006 07:21 PM

Well, Kenny is gone :( Cant' say I am surprised, though I kind of thought that all the men who were forced to watch the show by their girlfriends/significant others would call and vote for him just for fun and since he was one of the only recognizable guys on there.

Well, I classify cheerleading in the same "sport" category as ballet and ice skating. Too subjective.

WE'VE GOT SPIRIT, YES WE DO. WE'VE GOT SPIRIT, HOW BOUT YOU???

I think cheerleading fits better in the dancing/musical scene. Don't get me wrong, I have a lot of respect out of those people, they might even work harder than sports people (I reserve the word athlete for true athletes, those who are in athletics), but it's no sport.

Joe 01-07-2006 09:58 AM

cheerleading=sport

SirFozzie 01-07-2006 11:44 AM

agreed. they are athletes.. better athletes then some OTHER sports I could mention

I guess my point was that it is not considered a sport in High School atheltics. It is considered a club. There was some kind of big deal about here in texas about losing the money if they danced provoctively.

Depends on the state I guess, there are competitive squads in Georgia HS & they're governed by the GHSA same as football, basketball, wrestling, etc.

edit to add: Then again, so is debate, literary, music, etc., so that isn't automatically a "sport" determinant. But I'd say those on the competitive squads are as much athletes as a lot of participants in other sports.
