Thanks to another forum I visit for this site, I haven't heard a dud yet from any of my saved stations and I've even written down some new bands to look for their music online.

I couldn't it to actually play anything. I mean, it was playing something (theoretically) & I could skip a track & see the next song come up, etc ... but I wasn't getting any audio at all. The volume on the player set high, everything looked right (my speakers were working fine just moments before & after trying this), but I'm stumped as to why I couldn't actually hear anything? Flash version compatability problem maybe? I checked the FAQ didn't see anything like this mentioned, so ???

I've been using this for a month or so and it's a great idea. The music selection is questionable at best, but for free can you really complain?

This is cool so far. The real test is whether I'm still using it in a few hours. My guess is I will be.

My question is how is it legal? We're not paying to use these songs...do their ads really cover their overhead?

I'm pretty sure they're working with the record companies here. Plus, they've got advertising on their site.

I put in a pretty obscure experimental rock band in am now listening to 3 Doors Down, Audiovent, and Puddle of Mudd. Yippie.

I don't think obscurity is one of their criteria--I guess you're just a Puddle of Mudd fan with delusions of taste.

Help! About an hour after adding Modest Mouse, Bon Jovi's The Hardest Part Is the Night started playing.

OK this site was great until I got the message: Unfortunately, due to our licensing agreements, we must limit the number of times you can skip a song per session so sit back and enjoy the music! (or something like that). Yeah, it was Dionne Warwick. Nice try. Back to itunes.

Just recreate the station you were listening to. I think that worked for me. You can also click "I don't like this" when ever anything shitty comes on.

Anyway, it's supposed to be like a tailored radio station, introducing you to new stuff and whatever. You're not going to love everything--If you're so picky about your playlist that you have to skip more than 10 times an hour it's probably not for you.

Wasn't that what launch.com was doing at first, or some similar site? Also wasn't there another project called something like "firefly" in the mid 90's that used to refer you to albums based on what you'd rated...

Still enjoying it. I like that I put about 4 or 5 different groups on my station as bands I like, and every once in a while it pulls up a group/song that I really like that I hadn't told it about. Pretty cool.

It's kinda fun playing "Stump the Band".

You mean trying to build a station for a band they don't have in the database? I tried Thought Industry, and they gave me a bunch of choices that wasn't them.

I tried "Deltron 3030", and it just said "sorry, we don't have that one but will look into them... try again."

Try Del Tha Funkee Homosapien or Handsome Boy Modeling School.

They didn't have Black Sheep in the database.

By the way, should I be worried that pretty much any song I seem to like, from a variety of different music genres, all seem to include the phrase "extensive vamping" in the description? Do I even want to know what that means?

The greatest thing is ever would be if Quik created a station and it started playing He Who Should Not Be Named.

Actually, there's something tremendously satisifying about hearing the first few notes of a song you don't like and then hitting the "I don't like it" button right away and watching it be replaced by a new song.

My Nine Inch Nails station just played a song by Bronson Arroyo.

This is completely unacceptable.

Okay, I'm fairly impressed. Got hits on Robert Earl Keen, Roger Creager, Kevin Fowler, Jason Boland, Reckless Kelly, and Cory Morrow. Struck out on Buster Jiggs and Randy Rogers.
