Whereabouts unknown...
"Leaping Lanny" Poffo.
|
Ok...what made you think about this wrestler. I had to dig into my memory to figure out where I heard this name. You must be getting old, you are getting nostalgic.

Dola...
Just in case you were wondering. |

threadjack,
my god, I went here: http://www.obsessedwithwrestling.com...tions/wwe.html and spent the last 30 minutes looking at profiles. It's amazing to see that quite a few of the 80's guys are still wrestling in various leagues. Also thought Jake Roberts died. He didn't. Knew Kerry von Erich died but didn't realize 3 of his brother committed suicide as well. |

Charleston Chew was awesome frozen. At Little League games they sold it frozen. It's much better that way than the "regular" way.
|
Man, Charleston Chew used to advertise in all of the comic books. I never actually saw one in person 'til I was like 20 though.

Randy Savage releases his first rap album (yes you heard me) a rap album, with a song entitled "Be A Man Hulk!"
October 8, 2003: Randy Savage got a brutal review for his CD in yesterday's New York Post. ~~~~~~~Dan Quilante wrote that the record, "defies the laws of physics by blowing and sucking at the same time" |

A critic for the New York Post used that line? I've got some "your mom" jokes that might interest them. |

1st time I've heard it: we go with 'that sucks' on occasion over here, but 'that blows' is not part of our vocabulary... |

The von Erich's were huge in Dallas when I was growing up. It was a major deal each time one of the brothers died. |

No doubt. I used to get 'em at the Stone Mountain pool. Good stuff. |

Google (and a little persistence) is a good thing. Now, you may or may not be willing to go along with the 2+2 I've put together but ... I believe he's working for Norfolk Southern now. First, check this out. http://www.collectingbanter.com/printthread.php?t=2957 It's a success story from an autograph collector & the address he lists as getting a signed card back from the former Falcon RB is in Roanoke, VA And then check out this link About halfway down the page is a blip that mentions "said Haskel Stanback, assistant vice president safety. " Now, for my purposes at this hour, Virgina address + Virginia company + pretty darned unusual name = that's him. Of course, YMMV ;) |

yeah.. interesting stuff. They were a staple of me and my friends. |
