MNF: Sea vs. Phi

This should be a great game, if for no other reason than it's supposed to snow in Philly today/tonight with accumulations up to 4-6 inches. Gotta love the snow bowl games.

rkmsuf 12-05-2005 09:10 AM

and it's reggie white jersey retirement day. maybe they'll replay his legistative speech during the tribute.

albionmoonlight 12-05-2005 09:11 AM

This will probably be a lot of people's first chance to see Seattle. They have to be more under the radar than any probably #1 seed at this time of year than any team in recent memory. Other than Alexander's fantasy stats, what press has Seattle gotten this season?

Butter 12-05-2005 09:11 AM

That will probably be the only reason to watch, considering Seattle has clinched their division and Philly is out of the playoff chase for all intents and purposes.

*brushes up on tuck rule*

No kidding. Until I watched last week's game, I didn't even know Joe Jurevicius was still in the league, let alone starting for Seattle.

rkmsuf 12-05-2005 09:31 AM

"We are going to win the toss and we are going to score!"

Bee 12-05-2005 09:37 AM

I think people write off Seattle because they've been very good many times before but always fall apart during the season or during the playoffs. :(

Radii 12-05-2005 09:45 AM

A seattle loss would muddy up the NFC playoff picture in terms of bye's a bit more. As a Panther fan, I'm all for this. GoGo Seattle late season choke job!

MizzouRah 12-05-2005 09:45 AM

I'll have the hot chocolate ready as I sit down to watch the game at home. As an NFC West viewer, Seattle has been quite impressive this year and definitly underrated.

They already should've lost to the Giants at home... 3 separate times... during a "big game". I think Philadelphia is not good enough to challenge them here, but I don't think they go far in the playoffs this season.

Travis 12-05-2005 10:56 AM

Yeah, cause no good team has ever won a game the lucky way (though we can always bring up the speculation that the Giants were spotted a few points earlier in the game that they shouldn't have necessarily had).

As a Seahawks fan, this is a very important game for us to come out and be strong in. We've won the past two games in rather ugly and lucky fashion, and know it. Add in the Dallas and Washington games and we're 3-1 in games where the endings aren't exactly your typical NFL style finishes. We should probably be 2-2 in those games, but I just can't bring myself to feel bad when we've had our fair share of officiating gaffs that have ended up being a major factor in losses over the past few years.

For the season though, it's time to start proving the point we had started to make earlier. Our #1 offense hasn't looked like it lately, and it won't until Holmgren rededicates himself to the run. I for one hope it snows like crazy in Philly to force Holmgren to keep the ball in Alexander's hands and to show everybody just how good he and this offensive line can be. We're automatically better once Jackson is back in the lineup, which is the most encouraging thing about the future of this season, but tonight is a game we have to come out and cement our hold on the #1 seed rather than muddling up the situation.

Ksyrup 12-05-2005 12:15 PM

Also, Seattle is 9-2 overall, but 3-2 on the road. They have something to prove generally, but also to themselves.

Yeah because we know how much snow kills a passing game

*cough*tuck rule game*cough*

Pumpy Tudors 12-05-2005 01:45 PM

Are they really expecting the snow to be that bad in Philadelphia? I understand that I'm clear across the state from Philly, but if they're getting the same thing that got Pittsburgh yesterday, it's not really going to be that bad. Now, if they're getting something else, well, I can't wait to see this. :D

Ksyrup 12-05-2005 01:47 PM

I'm in Florida, so when I see that there is supposed to be 4-6 inches of snow, I'm just hoping it will be coming down during the game. I don't know how bad it really would be to play in.

They should be playing in Tallahassee right now - we're getting a major line of thunderstorms as I type which has produced a couple of tornadoes so far.

Pumpy Tudors 12-05-2005 01:50 PM

I just looked at Weather Underground's report for Philadelphia, and it looks like it's going to be fun in Philly tonight. This is clearly something much stronger than what we had in western Pennsylvania yesterday. Giddyup!

B & B 12-05-2005 04:00 PM

Take the points. That is, if you like money.

CraigSca 12-05-2005 05:22 PM

This storm is a rarity - usually the larger snow amounts occur north and west of Philadelphia. However, this one should be more out to see than the others and thus living in Delaware, we should see more snow than Philadelphia. Even here they're calling for 3-5 inches in total, with the majority happening after midnight.

I'd love to see a snow game, too, but it looks like a flurry/light snow game, if anything :(

kingfc22 12-05-2005 08:09 PM

MNF + Snow = SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rizon 12-05-2005 08:34 PM

I was going to take the under. However, this game is quickly becoming painful to watch :(

cthomer5000 12-05-2005 09:07 PM

Rutgers power!

Yeah, it's pretty sad. I say they should call the game before it gets worse. Just let everyone run out on the field and mosh and let the cameras roll. Maybe some drunken college girls will flash.

cthomer5000 12-05-2005 09:17 PM

"Somebody get a body bag"

Eaglesfan27 12-05-2005 09:18 PM

Really, really ugly.

Rizon 12-05-2005 09:21 PM

I want to change my number from 4 to 11.

Ksyrup 12-05-2005 09:27 PM

Well, this is the snowjob I was promised. Not quite what I was expecting, though.

Ughh...I have to watch them every week...we get our Fox feed from Seattle.

ThunderingHERD 12-05-2005 09:53 PM

Reggie White's wife is a very attractive older lady.

kingfc22 12-05-2005 09:54 PM

HAHAHHA Seahawks DEFENSE scores for the 3rd time

Ksyrup 12-05-2005 09:55 PM

This is like a high school game.

Rizon 12-05-2005 09:56 PM

It feels like I'm playing Tecmo Bowl 3 and trying to rack up 100 against the computer.

Dr. Sak 12-05-2005 09:56 PM

I am glad I have Seattle's defense and Shaun Alexander playing on my fantasy team this week.

Hurst2112 12-05-2005 09:57 PM

why, just because Detmer looks like a high school QB?

;)

I know, I see you through the window. Stop touching yourself.

Ksyrup 12-05-2005 10:00 PM

On second thought, perhaps TO should have been reinstated and forced to play both ways tonight.

now what am i doing???

Eaglesfan27 12-05-2005 10:01 PM

I think this is the first time in a very long time, that I've had to just stop watching an Eagles game. It's just too painful to watch the team play this pathetically. Off to play some Gothic 2.

You know, I was earlier this evening. I feel so violated. Why do you all know what my routine is tonight? By the way, if anybody says "playing with your tube of toothpaste", im closing my windows.

Ugliest

Game

of

the

Season.

Rizon 12-05-2005 10:17 PM

I think I heard taps playing in the background.

Oh, and the commercials are better than the game. Even if I have seen them 100 times.

Lorena 12-05-2005 10:21 PM

This game is unwatchable... why don't they just forfeit and end everyone's misery?

st.cronin 12-05-2005 10:31 PM

If the Eagles had T.O. they'd be winning.

Ksyrup 12-05-2005 10:46 PM

Nothing better than a McNabb Chunky Soup commercial at 11:48 of the 4th quarter of a 42-0 blowout in a 5-7 season with McNabb on IR.

Galaxy 12-05-2005 10:53 PM
