Dammit, Colts -- Let Peyton play the full game!

I want to win my fantasy league championship game. It's a bad time to sub him out after a few series....

timmae 12-23-2005 10:22 AM

anyone else thinking the same and hoping for a broken jaw??

gottimd 12-23-2005 10:23 AM

I love it that they are not playing their starters and the guy I am playing is forced to used Grossman instead of Manning.

Kodos 12-23-2005 10:28 AM

I'm considering starting Sorgi... That's how desperate I am. In the league, we start 2 QBs. My other starter is Jake Delhomme. I just have the feeling it will be 3 series and out for Manning. My only other QB is Billy Volek. At least it seems very likely that Sorgi will see significant time.

Gotta love Jims Orgy!

One week too late for me. :(

gstelmack 12-23-2005 10:33 AM

And this is why Fantasy Football Playoffs shouldn't run over the last 2-3 weeks of the season...

How on earth can Sorgi and Bollinger (another ex wisco player) be starting in the nfl right now? I know injuries and playoff concerns but these 2 guys were almost scary when they were playing college ball... there has to be better options, right???

Kodos 12-23-2005 10:40 AM

I just picked up another great option in Rex Grossman... :(

Thomkal 12-23-2005 11:21 AM

The team I'm facing in the Super Bowl has already sent Marvin Harrison to the bench in favor of Donte Stallworth of New Orleans, and has Haselbeck and Alexander starting. I could get very lucky with my patchwork roster. Had to replace Gado, and sit D. Jackson-SEA this week, leaving me with a scary looking roster, but at least most if not all will play a full game for me.

chinaski 12-23-2005 11:22 AM

no shit, this is killing my fanatasy final! Im forced to go with Carr vs the Jags :(

I was going to say something similiar. Sorgi was actually not bad, but honest to god couldn't take a hit in the Big 10. If he ever has to start a game in the nfl, they better have doctors standing by.

Exactly, especially when there is money at stake.

digamma 12-23-2005 11:51 AM

I play against Manning and Harrison in my final.

Glengoyne 12-23-2005 12:57 PM

I'm on the opposite side of this. I'm in two Fantasy leagues. I'm in the Championship game of the Keeper league, and the elder Manning is the guy's QB. This week is the conference Championship of the other league a thirty two team affair(four leagues of 8 all tied together through playoffs). I'm facing Manning there as well. I haven't won the thirty two team league in fifteen years, it would be nice to get back on the trophy.

gottimd 12-23-2005 01:03 PM

GOOD LORD, 32 Team league? I had problems in a 16 team league I was running because there were never any good Free Agents out there. The draft must have taken days, and if you didnt get the right players in the draft in a 32 team league, you are basically screwed I assume.

No No it is four eight team leagues tied together through playoffs. Only eight teams per draft. In other words, Peyton is playing in the other Conference championship game as well. Last week I played a team with LT, and I was starting him as well. thirty two teams would suck in a huge way other wise.

Your opponent should have picked him up pre-emptively, just to stick you with that stiff Manning.

Good luck, though.

Our playoffs run during the actual playoffs. 6 teams make the playoffs, you skip the WC round and then do a redraft of players that aren't on anyone's team or players that are still FAs (keeping those players on your team, if you want, that are in the playoffs)

Definitely one of those things you either love or hate how the playoffs run but, it's unique so, I love it..
