Cotton Bowl: Alabama-Texas Tech

What, no love for the Cotton Bowl?

Tech just made things interesting. A few minutes left in the 4th, and Texas Tech finally made a touchdown to tie up the game 10-10.

That reverse was a ballsy call and then Bama decided to not tackle. Bama cant score though....

Actually, I figured they would run a reverse or mis-direction play. Since the gimpy Hodges came on the field, I figured that 'Bama would send the house against him.

Also, I never realized that the red from Tech and the Crimson from the Tide was so close in color. The whole crowd looks to be wearing the same color.

Here we go. A 45 yard FG attempt for the Tide to try and win the game. The kicker is 1-3, and this will be his season long attempt. Otherwise, it's OT.

GrantDawg 01-02-2006 01:42 PM

Ugliest winning kick ever.

cartman 01-02-2006 01:43 PM

And it is good! That had to be the ugliest FG I'd ever seen.

MrBug708 01-02-2006 01:43 PM

Geez

MrBug708 01-02-2006 01:44 PM

Obscure comment of the day. "*so and so* lost a twin sister when they were 12" Makes no sense

cartman 01-02-2006 01:45 PM

lol, I guess great minds think alike, GrantDawg

:D

Yup. :)

But that was one ugly duck of a kick.

Congratulations to Alabama on winning the National Championship.

Because a team celebrates their asses off after a game you think they think they won a national championship?

Heh...

I can only imagine what the Badgers will do when they win this one.

I thought if you won a bowl game you could pretend you won the National Championship. (See: USC claiming to be going for a threepeat)

A threepeat of the AP national championship.

Those cheating bastards from TT didn't have the officiating crew from Lubbock to bail them out today.

Oh, and Brodie Croyle, the 70's called. They want their haircut back.

Cuckoo 01-02-2006 02:19 PM

Great defense from Alabama. I knew they were good, but they did a really good job against Tech, an overrated but still a decent team. I figured Alabama would win, so I suppose I'll give Tech a little credit for making it close.

Vegas Vic 01-02-2006 03:21 PM

I don't know why everyone seems to be in such awe of Tech's chickensh*t offense. Since Mike Leach took over, here are TT's scores against Oklahoma:

2000: 13-27
2001: 13-30
2002: 15-60
2003: 25-56
2004: 13-28
2005: 23-21 (including the gift 6 on the last play of the game)

AVG: 17-37

Loved the game ut, didnt like FOX's commentators. Oh God! Chris Rix worshipping Alabama's defensive coordinator everytime he got a chance to talk.

MrBug708 01-02-2006 03:50 PM

I guess Texas Tech has a defense good enough to play in the SEC

Yeah. They went how many games without scoring a touchdown at one stretch this season?

JeeberD 01-02-2006 05:34 PM

Huzzah, death to Texas Blech!
