Barry Bonds - Reality TV Series?

Baseball slugger Barry Bonds to star in new ESPN reality TV series

UPI News Service, 01/19/2006

San Francisco Giants slugger Barry Bonds is apparently gearing up to star in an ESPN reality series, it was reported Thursday.

The weekly show will follow Bonds on and off the field, starting with spring training and continuing through the Major League Baseball season, The Hollywood Reporter said.

This is an important season for Bonds as he pursues the home run records set by Babe Ruth and Hank Aaron, The Reporter noted.

Sources told The Reporter that ESPN has tentatively slated the show for 7 p.m. Eastern time Tuesday nights with reruns scheduled throughout the week.

I thought I'd already seen this. It was called Sportscenter!

Didn't they follow him around every day last season when he was recovering from surgery. It was on SC every single night. I'm also guessing that the show will feature Pedro Gomez since he seemed to follow him around last time.

Fuckin' reality TV...STOP RUINING OUR SOCIETY!

maybe they can have him ballroom dance...or ice skate.

So this is what they came up with as Step 1 of the Barry Bonds PR campaign to improve his image before he breaks the HR record? Maybe they'll have him do a guest appearance on Dog the Bounty Hunter and have him personally arrest an escaped child molester.

Dola. I can just see episode 1...Barry spends his Saturday afternoon cleaning the bedpans of indigent blind homeless quadraplegics.

Unless he does a 180 and starts letting people into that bloated melon of his and reveals some vulnerability, this really won't be a compelling show. The best reality TV is when we get to see people break down and collapse in front of the world.

Signed,
Danny Bonaduce
