Hadn't seen a thread about it, so figured it was time to make one. I won't be around but I'm sure they'll replay it on CSPAN for me.

Maybe when I get back later on tonight, I can turn this into a poll about approval/disapproval of the speech or something. Any ideas?

Yeah, same here, which is why I didn't mention House (I watch House and tape Scrubs on my DVR).

If hilarity means her being arrested for bringing a banner in, and being held for questioning through the length of the speech, then yeah.

Just to let people know, the first words spoken by anyone at tonights event (by Cheney) occurred at 9:11 PM EST.

Just checking, but did he essentially say anyone who didn't want the US to be in Iraq is a fraidy-cat?

The best part of watching this is the crowd's reaction. I mean, who do people watch to see if they should stand up?

I hate State of the Union's where they obvious tug on the heartstrings. Yeah, the people lost a soldier and that's horrible, but what in the Hell does have to do with anything?

Eh - except the Egypt bit, where the most powerful party (the Muslim Brotherhood) was "pressured" as to how many candidates it could put up. Egypt is no democracy.

I think he's always been a good speaker - I think his celebrated malaprops were a put-on, an attempt to connect to the common man.

I missed the immigrant stuff - what did he say ? Bush is very much on the pro-business side of the GOP on that.

There is no question that some debt *is* good for the economy. Too much debt, though, is bad for the economy.
