Can someone post the top 25 from Rivals or one of those recruiting companies?

SFL Cat 02-02-2006 12:36 PM

Rivals.com top 25 breakdown

1. Southern Cal 24
Allen Bradford In action
Includes seven of California's 10 best and it's littered with blue chips from coast-to-coast.
2. Florida 27[list]
Percy Harvin In action
Fought USC to the finish ... more 1a and 1b than 1 and 2. Clearly the year's best classes.
3. Florida State 30[list]
Myron Rolle In action
Another fast and furious close; it's long on numbers – 30 signatures in all.
4. Georgia 27[list]
Matt Stafford In action
Reshad Jones' pledge on Wednesday finishes off what fellow five-star Stafford started in the summer.
5. Texas 25[list]
Sergio Kindle In action
In-state dominance. The Longhorns "selected" more than they "recruited" inside the Lone Star State.
6. Penn State 24[list]
A.J. Wallace In action
Couldn't have done much better: Seven of the top 10 recruits in Maryland and eight D-linemen.
7. LSU 25[list]
Al Woods In action
Who says Les Miles isn't fit to follow Nick Saban? Nine of Louisiana's top 10 will suit for the Tigers.
8. Notre Dame 27[list]
Sam Young In action
Charlie Weis proves his recruiting acumen may be as sharp as his play-calling.
9. Oklahoma 28[list]
Gerald McCoy In action
Filling O-line needs and closing with in-state studs McCoy and Jermaine Gresham were huge.
10. Auburn 25[list]
Benjamin Tate In action
The Tigers are the SEC's quiet assassins, assembling another deep group of supreme athletes.
11. Alabama 23[list]
Andre Smith In action
The knock on this year's Tide team was offensive line. Andre Smith is here to answer.
12. Ohio State 20[list]
Chris Wells In action
RB Chris Wells is the impact guy; the depth comes from four four-star linebackers.
13. Michigan 19[list]
Brandon Graham In action
Four-star DB Jonas Mouton was a late coup in a sturdy class.
14. Miami (Fla.) 22[list]
Tervaris Johnson In action
It's a decent class but it's the first for the Hurricanes to rank outside of our top 10 this decade.
15. Clemson 20[list]
C.J. Spiller In action
Pulled off one of Signing Day's biggest surprises when they landed Spiller, the No. 1 player in Florida.
16. Ole Miss 29[list]
Brent Schaeffer In action
Quarterback Brent Schaeffer comes with five stars and previous SEC experience.
17. UCLA 22[list]
Micah Kia In action
Four four-star offensive linemen headline another solid effort for Karl Dorrell and Co.
18. Arizona 25[list]
Louis Holmes In action
Classes like this are the reason Mike Stoops is here; the impact will be on the defensive side.
19. California 20[list]
Derrick Hill In action
It's a well-balanced class loaded with great athletes.
20. Nebraska 22[list]
Andre Jones In action
The receivers have a chance to have the most impact, along with five-star DB Andre Jones.
21. Pittsburgh 25[list]
Dorin Dickerson In action
The Panthers bulked up on in-state commitments with six four-star signees.
22. Oklahoma State 28[list]
Perrish Cox In action
OSU made Texas a priority and brought in four Rivals250 defenders from the Lone Star State.
23. Tennessee 22[list]
Walter Fisher In action
Down year for the Vols; still picked up Fisher and two four-star offensive linemen.
24. South Carolina 24[list]
Garrett Anderson In action
The Gamecocks addressed a major need with four four-star linemen.
25. Texas A&M 22[list]
Michael Goodson In action
Want skill position players? Try four RBs, four WRs, four DBs and two athletes.

First was the big Peach Bowl loss, then there was the firing of four assistants, now a lacklustre recruiting class....anyone want to speculate that Miami's Larry Coker might be on the hot seat next season?

You da man. Thanks.

Wow... Urban Meyer really stepped up to the plate. From all I've read he's got one Hell of a recruiting class, much better than Zook ever got.

cthomer5000 02-02-2006 01:37 PM

anyone know how Rutgers has done?

They were #45 nationally with a couple 4 star recruits at RB and WR. Pretty good class IMO.

SFL Cat 02-02-2006 01:45 PM

According to Rivals.com, Rutgers scored #45

signed 25; avg. player star rating 2.52; total points 573

cthomer5000 02-02-2006 01:51 PM

Very nice, sounds promising. I was just reading over a couple of profiles on scarletknights.com. I'm only disappointed with the apparent lack of DB help.

Thanks guys.

Not really true. Zook landed the #4 class in 2003 and #8 class in 2004 by Scout.com rankings. Zook recruited well.

ISiddiqui 02-02-2006 02:18 PM

Well Zook never got the #2 class

I would submit he was already going to be on the hot seat prior to yesterday

He also did an excellent job with the Illini this year.

I'm ecstatic about Kentucky's recruiting class. Probably our best in 30 years.

At least the defense should be fun to watch.

dawgfan 02-02-2006 03:31 PM

Washington lands the #35 class according to both Scout.com and Rivals.com. Not bad for a team coming off of 1-10 and 2-9 seasons. Losing OL Steve Schilling to Michigan and RB James Montgomery decommitting and going to Cal hurt, but we still landed a stud QB and the top in-state guy in Jake Locker and some pretty good linemen. Now we just need to hope Locker doesn't go into pro baseball like previous UW QB commits Grady Sizemore and Matt Tuiasosopo.

Let's not forget that Florida lost 4 big-time prospects late that they had verbals from. So if they would have landed those 4 guys, their class probably would have been #1.

Eaglesfan27 02-02-2006 04:27 PM

Fight on USC! :)

The problem was that the two biggest DB studs in NJ (who also happened to be the top 2 players in the state - Myron Rolle, FSU, and Antwine Perez, USC) have been locked into their schools for a while. At least, RU never even had a chance with them. After them, the in-state prospects in the secondary were limited. We did pick up some nice out of state prospects though, in Zaire Kitchen, Julian Hayes, and Kevin Holloway.

We loaded up on some great WRs (Kenny Britt, Shamar Graves, Tim Brown most notably) and a bunch of LBs who will either stay at the position or shift to DE or S.

Very happy with the class.
