FOF: Worst Playoff Teams

This is the crappiest division I have ever seen and the worst record team I've ever seen make the playoffs. I've seen a few 7-9 teams get in, but never worse than that before. Here the Steelers snuk in as division winners at 6-9-1.

Can anyone top this? Has anyone seen a 6-10 or, god forbid, 5-11 team make the playoffs?

wow. let us know if they win there first playoff game in round 1.

Not only that, but I see three 9-7 teams missed the playoffs in the AFC. Also, an 8-8 team qualified for the wildcard in the NFC.

In your particular case, if Pittsburgh had actually lost to the Redskins, instead of tying, they would have still made the playoffs at 6-10.

Well it would depend on the tiebreaker with Cleveland. But yeah, either way a 6-10 team would've got in.

In the HFL (MP historic league), the LA Rams won the NFC West with a 6-10 record last year, in 1973.

Strangely enough, the NFC West could also have a 6-10 champion in 1974 as well, as entering the final week of the season, the leaders St Louis Cardinals and SF Niners are both 6-9.

Bottom line, the NFC West sucks... :D

In a multiplayer league, that's pretty amazing.

What are the Big Red doing in the NFC West anyways? We used to love getting throttled by the Cowboys, Redskins, Eagles, and Giants!

Ok, here is one for you. I posted this a few years ago. Oddly enough, it was Pitt that made the playoffs at 6-10.

Then, they made the glorious run to win it at 10-10. Strangest thing I have seen playing FOF.

AND THEN

LOL, excellent Senator !

dola, I checked my 50+ season main career and the worst I have seen was 8-8 Division Champions.

We've had quite a bit of turnover in that division.

jamesUMD 02-04-2006 07:46 PM

I have seen 6-10 one time. It would have been funny had my team not missed the playoffs with a 11-5 record that year in the same conference (NFC).
